Hammer time. Tomorrow is gonna be good.
Spent the weekend around Monarch pass. Not the biggest totals, or gnarliest terrain, but pretty happy about it.
BTW $35 tix M-F if you have a season pass anywhere else in the state. Damn good deal.
if this forecast holds true, the coverage should be excellent!http://weber.ninecomputer.com/2.jpg
The Beav was nice today, trees holding some good snow though I was pretty surprised how tracked Royal Elk was by early afternoon.
Surprise, 11 more today. I knew I liked you, March.
Yessir. It's going to be a good day.
One of the best days I have ever had on Ajax. No exaggeration. Got in the 3rd bucket and grabbed first tracks on face and S1 on the first lap. Rode up the gondola and then caught the rope drop on Kristi (90 second wait with nobody else except me and the two buddies I was skiing with) which was one of the best runs of my life.
Bottomless blower pow in the sun and I didn't cross a single track on my first two laps... it does not get any better.
Super jealous...sounds amazing.
Front Range was pretty good today. A little brisk.

Oh wait...is this still the butthurt thread or have we moved on now?
Windy Park in full effect today. Pano, Cirque closed all day. Eagle Wind and Pioneer shut down real early. Report was a -33 windchill at the summit.
There is a pretty firm crust about 8 inches down.
Tophers and Pine Cliffs->Rock Garden laps hit the spot.

Man if I was skiing today I would have been at Aspen... though I might have settled for Beav
Beaver Creek was all fucking time today. Stone Creek was a meat hucking gong show but everyone behaved themselves. I know some of you motherfuckers descended on our swanky little hill. Hope it was as good for you as it was for us.
Agreed. Lots of Breck mini crews running around. Had some good laughs on the lifts today with a couple. Bluebird then another squall came through.
Vail was great today, empty till late morning, fricking cold. Bluebird sky and knee deep in the right spots. Headwall $$. Deep trees that had no wind affect held blower. Whiteout in the back after lunch and a pretty good squall emptied the place out. Not enough to refill but early tomorrow till 11 or so it will ski great, then the punters will chop up most of it. Felt like a January day.
You guys see the First Flatiron was skied Sunday? Crazy: http://www.dailycamera.com/outdoors-...first-flatiron
Holy Boulder. Locked heels aren't allowed. And then there's the entertaining comments.
The official rules say nothing about skiing. They do say
Are alpine skis "similar" to "mountain ski-bikes"? Who can say?Quote:
Other prohibited activities include: polluting land, water or air, golfing, hangliding,
paragliding, parapenting, parachuting, parasailing, the use of remote-controlled land, water or
air-borne devices, mountain skateboards, mountain ski-bikes, off-road roller blades, and
similar devices.
Anyone hear anything about an Ev slide? I'm hearing rumors
Meh. Sounds like it was more sideslipping on rock on belay than skiing and I personally don't think that its worthy of all the acclaim, but whatever floats your boat. Someday with really the right conditions I can see the 3rd and 1st being skied from the top.

That guy quoted is wrong. Skis have been used there for longer than the stupid mountain parks were in existence. A friend of a friend was told that snowboards are banned because they are basically the same as sleds, which are banned (although I don't see that in the rules).
