I've got a Breville with a bagel setting--only the top element heats up.

Oddly, a bunch of trim I bought is made from something like PVC. I see there are special blades for that material. Should I buy the $40 blade for the miter saw or just use the blade in it? I have never used this stuff before.
I'm assuming that's exterior trim? And it's probably azek or certainteed?
If so, heat buildup is your enemy. You don't need a special blade per se, but you do need the right blade. And sharp. I'm pretty sure mine's a carbide tipped 80 tooth wood blade on the 12" saw.
You definitely should download the manufacturer's installation guide(s). It seems counterintuitive, but it does expand & contract like wood, and there are situations where you should use cement/adhesive as well.
We used a PVC trim in our bathroom, and it cut just fine with the normal wood blade we had in there

What's up with people wearing deck boots everywhere now? new suburban hipster fashion trend?
Is it raining where you are?
What are deck boots?
Wow, guess I feel super lucky that I haven't had to consider that.. no one in my contacts has died.
On the other topic, I'm a fan of muck boots.. My mother and sister who both run horse farms year round turned me on to them. They cover all of my mud/muck/snow/ice needs, and are slip on which I really love...fuck laces for footwear when they aren't needed.

Been wearing this boot around the farm for the last 13yrs. To saying love them is an understatement. Waterproof leather with a nice pair of wool socks will keep your feet happy (and smelling nice) year round.

Wish I'd had a pair of rubber boots the rainy week I spent in AK heliskiing. Everyone who worked there had them.
