Had some Stagg Jr. over the weekend. 128 proof. Hot, but very tasty.
Our patrol director pronounced that it tasted like shit. His go to drink, however, might explain; Crown and ginger ale. Hummmm....
This is tastyAttachment 448179
I've only tried a few flavored whiskeys and found they were better in mixed drinks than straight for me.
I found a bottle of Larceny Barrel Proof at a grocery store in northern WI a couple weeks ago. I've been looking for this bottle since I tried it a few years ago. I'm a fan of wheated bourbons and the full proof is much better than the standard 92 proof.
That's not even a flavored whiskey. Its a "vanilla liqueur infused with whiskey". In other words its complete crap with a little whiskey added so they can trick low brow morans into thinking its more than complete crap.
Tried some Elmer T. Lee over the weekend. Probably the smoothest bourbon I have tasted.
Picked up a couple at Virginia's limited release today; 2x Blanton's (trading material) and a Turkey Rare Breed Rye (tasting material).
That Elmer T is some damn good brown liquor.
While not qualifying as the best I ever tasted, Evan Williams bottled in Bond is always good to have in the cabinet AND AT LESS THAN $25 might be the best value in bourbon these days. Just picked some up last week for $21
Yes, I also dig Elmer T. Unfindable here but have horse traded for it from time to time.
Whiskey should taste like wisky, naught else.
If ya want flavour added get over to the cocktail thread.
Whiskey nazi.

whoa ....
S. Bannon will give you his life savings for that bottle.
Not to worry - he can grift it all back and then some in a matter of days.

Anyone have access to og114. It's been out of stock at the local distributor for almost a year here in Colorado
I have scored two bottles of ETL. One was $40, the other was $225. $132.50 average, not good, but not terrible. I haven't seen one on the shelf for years.
Ordered 4 bottles of Obtanium Light Whiskey yesterday. Hot stuff at 142 proof, but tasty.
Oddly enough, the pool room where I shoot is getting a regular supply of EH Taylor Small Batch, Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare, and a few others you would not expect to see in a pool room.
Amazing the tgr skillz lack so bad in the areas of adult beverage fabricashuns.
Nu batches being born evareeday.
I've been finding it randomly in MT but nowhere close to home. The wife grabbed me some in Gardiner for our sledding trip last weekend. Evasive might have a hookup in helena since that's where I used to grab it.

Buffalo Trace has been missing from the shelves around here for quite awhile. Recently popped back up for $25 (and only $27 for the liter). Had no idea it was so popular.
