If motor doping was a thing, the commisars would have detected the electromagnetic fields around the motors.
If motor doping was a thing, the commisars would have detected the electromagnetic fields around the motors.
Motors that don't rely on magnets. It's a thing.
Why play up the whole nutrition thing? That's easy, according to the cycling crazed Belgians, physiologic doping is quasi-OK, but motor doping is a grave sin. So you can imagine riders will cover that crap up at all costs.
“From the tv networks to the IOC to WADA to the athletes, they are all in on it. “
Hard to believe that’s changed.

They already do X rays of bikes to test for motor doping. There was an issue a few years ago where the testers caused a minor issue with Roglics bike
This is hard to believe the level above
Pogi was 2:40 behind w/ Jonas & Remco
& then just rode to the finish like he was going downhill, putting another 1:40 into his closest rivals
I don’t think he’s at all worried about the time trial even if the delta was closer
Somebody needs to tell Tejay to shut the fuck up. I'm sick of his bullshit. I thought Bobke was going to kick his ass the other day and I wish he had.
I miss Christian in the studio, but he is doing well on the moto too
To think I felt kind of sorry for Tadej after that TT last year
Anyway
Yeah Pogi’s series of intervals to leapfrog each guy in the lead group was stunning.
And yeah, I don’t think he is taking banned substances. Chris Horner won the Vuelta in 2013 using snickers bars and coke for fuel - and McDonalds. Nutritional science has come a long way.
And yeah, Teejay is irritating. So is Brookwalter. Bring back Horner and CVV in the studio. Or one in the studio and one on the moto.
Horner was more annoying than either of those two, although Teejay is a close second. It was like his pay was based on how many guys he called a knucklehead.

I am longer leaning towards cleaner than not clean. there are too many testing loops holes. ‘That you could drive a Mack truck through’. Microdosing hormones. Timing of doping, new drugs. Plus the money involved from top to bottom.
Tadej is certainly a freak, but so was lance. Freak plus high tech doping equals 7 tour de France’s and passing dudes uphill like they are going backwards. Today was just so insane it csnt be anywhere close to normal.
Anyway I’m over it. Still fun to watch.

Well now you’ve reached my point of ignorance.
I assumed a magnet free motor would need some sort of alternating current applied to create a magnetic field. With no current and no field generated, my assumption is you’d just be spinning some metal parts past each other which wouldn’t create any magnetic field.
But I could be very wrong here.
That was mental.
So some talk going around tadej being a selfish prick for attacking uneccessarily again and hogging another stage win. Matteo was absolutely devastated today. The win would have done much more for him than tadej.
Then again visma was planning on crushing tadej today so this was his big f u to those plans. And maybe some redemption from detonating last year losing 7 mins.
I’m in the latter camp. It’s a bike race, not a charity event. Anything can still happen too. He may need those extra mins if he explodes tomorrow or crashes in the time trial.

I gotta admit this is the first year in a while that I've watched any TDF. And I've been enjoying it. But the Stage 19 finish today was was, I don't know ... pretty freakish stuff. Seated, sustained high (100+ ?) spin rate, blowing by guy after guy almost as if he were riding up the hill on a motorcyle. Is this the new normal?
Interesting take here...
Don't give them a reason to question you.

Best sign so far
“RIP SUSPENSE”
Tadej takes it. Love it. No mercy. No charity. I think he did specifically to piss lance off.

The best part of that was Bob’s incredulous tone when he asked Phil if he’s watched any of the tour so far.
That Bob comment was hilarious
Just got to the beach for a break with friends
As we’re taking stuff in, my buddy arrives & his wife drives his Scott Addict into the carport roof…not the best start to the weekend
Bob has been spending a lot of time correcting Phil this time around France.
Ouch! On the bike. Old racing buddy from PDX put three into the garage door header. After the second, he mounted the bent forks over the garage and had a sign in the car with “Bikes on Board” that he could flip up when appropriate.
Took about a year for it to happen again…
Too bad Tadej is so awesome. Tomorrow’s TT is gonna be a snooze fest. Only battle to settle is like for 10th place.
I hope TD smashes it. No charity stage win to anyone. Who wants to win that way anyway.

Looks like the fantasy game may have updated their Crowdstrike software.
Great TT ride by Dereck Gee and Matteo!

congrats kat5!
Jesus, wins the TT by over a minute and becomes the first rider since 1930 to win the final three stages in a row. Talk about putting an exclamation point on it.
Speaking of gifting a win, Kat5 does not want any money from ya all.
Even though she was the Overall winner, Largest number of stages won, and Highest score in a single stage (excluding stage 21) she would prefer that you just give a little bit back to a charity.
Our choice would be a local non-profit we like to support: The Cycle Effect, or even something as simple as giving a food bank or shelter the donation at the checkout at your local grocery store. Please pay it forward, and she would be happy.
As competitive as she is, she is also a super gracious winner, and was cheering on bidons et saucissons and waveshello in hopes they would pass her in the final stages.
I find the fantasy game super fun, it makes me pay attention to whats happening during the whole tour, and gives me reasons to cheer for breakaways, sprinters, and weird 7 point riders.
I truly believe we are watching a new era of generational talent. I hope in 25 years we are able to talk about how we watched Tadej and Jonnas battle it out over many years of the Tour.
Very cool. Congrats Kat5.
Just made a donation to https://oregonadaptivesports.org/
Anybody interested in a fantasy game for La Vuelta? Some of this crew did it last year. Will get real interesting if Tadej decides to go for a triple crown in the same year (never has happened), and Jonas decides to compete.
Awesome tour.
Great way to be Kat5
