I had thoughts on going to SLC and hitting up the BCC
But I'm waiting until after the new year
I just found pics of 2014/15, it was ugly but we still skied

GKWood, pivot. Crater Lake isn’t going yet. You might be able to scrape together some meager turns on Shasta but it’s doubtful. I don’t see Bachelor being worth it.
Thx for the feedback; pretty much confirmed the reality that I've been hesitant to accept. Oh well, hopefully 2024 brings the goods.
Around Xmas December 2014 was way worse than current conditions at mhm.

You should look at Red in Rossland. Sweet little him and a nice town.

Meager pickings.
If you end up in Rossland, check this place out. It’s walking distance to red and a sweet little place that makes a real breakfast for you. A lot cheaper than anywhere in the states that is walking distance to the slopes. Its been a while since I stayed here but the guy that ran the place was a total ski bum. He told me came to Mt Hood for 6 weeks after Whitefish closed and camped out the whole time while skiing everyday on the spring pass.

I move to amend the title of our thread, dropping the “‘23”
Sorry for the thread drift y’all
I am digging the suggestions, thank you!
What does 1-3" of new on ice ski like? Asking for a friend.
It's all Jim Dandy till you get some vert.>Wash out.
^^ Looks like 1-3” new Cascade concrete did its magic covering up the ice like spackling paste. Way to go get it. Looks like west crater rim just above illumination rock? Did you summit?
If things don't improve quickly, Ikon resorts Snowbird, Solitude, and Snowbasin look decent enough for travel.

Any reports from the Southern Wallowas? Headed to the Norway hut at the end of Jan and looking to get a feel for the current snowpack. I assume its... sparse.

Sky chair was running about half speed due to a major shudder between towers 12-13. Lift op said a pulley had worn out…
ETA - they shut sky down at 2:00

Maybe they can remove the straps that allow vertically challenged people to pull the safety bar down while they’re at it. They beat against your helmet the whole ride.
^^^the “footrests” are too small to rest even one ski, so no point in dropping the bar unless there’s a small kid on board.
And ETA #2 - a pulley seized on tower 12 so the rope was dragging across a stationary pulley. I’ll give them the benefit of a doubt on that - warranty repair…
Does Mt Bachelor have a microwave?
We'll be skiing the 23rd if anyone is up.

^^^ No - that would interfere with their food & beverage biz…
Ski lifts don’t have “pulleys”. They have sheaves and sheave trains/ multiple sheaves on a tower.
Sick dude! Looks delicious!

Hey, ya can't win em all
Yeah, well, I try to live by the motto “seize the day” but it’s more like a chore these days…
Becoming a ice coast skier, right here in powdr city.
So, it looks like I didn't miss much while I was away. Came over 26 from PDX and it was snaining at Gov't camp. And a big FU to the Ram Dually in the left passing lane doing 45 MPH.
Le tits now

Looks like star and mhx are a go for tomorrow. Going to seriously consider putting a few new dings in my skis to rip some dirty ass snow. Anyone else?
Nope, not yet…but man, I am really itchy
