Jonesy knows his carvers
He hooked me up with a pair of Head TT80s. He has an identical pair. Perfect for hard snow days.
One day we were both riding them at Bach. Lady riding chair with us commented on matched skis.
I threw my arms around jonesy, & said “we gifted them to ourselves when we became a committed couple”.
Jonesy sat there stock still, except for a twitch in his jaw.
I said “his mustache is so tickely!”
He spoke not a word until we exited the chair, then he said “god dammit bob”
I can’t recall him being on those skis since

I managed to secure an afternoon reservation at Meadows for Sunday. I'll be getting my good friend back on skis. If you're up there, I'll be in a red Trew jacket, gray helmet w/the requisite TGR stickers. Ask for change.

can't make it today or tomorrow
will be at MHM sun too w/ the boy

And you two should ride together - you haven't seen each other in a long time, while we did a bunch of MTB rides over the summer/fall.

I remember. It is why I always push off on tbs with every lift ride. Looking forward to some soft snow for first turns of the year!

Rock skis off piste at the Doo? I’m planning on bringing an entire quiver as my legs and conditions wear through the day ... but rock skis require me to scrape storage wax and move bindings off my “who knows what conditions” skis ...

It’s still a kinda boney in the weeds shralph but filling in nicely. Not so sure the fun:effort ratio justifies remounts et al for this weekend.

BTW, know that jonesy doesn’t mess with no wax scraping - he just melts it off as he skis

Snow level came down very low this storm cycle! Time to enjoy 12” of dust on top of bullet proof. My bet is Groomer skis required today.

About the only time you’ll hear me complain about low density snow. Hope the next storm comes in warm to consolidate some of this stuff...

Magnificent photo op tft. Hoodoo is the new bachelor. That company jacket, run of the lodge,cheap food & descrete line maneuvers. It's good to be king.

The snow was surprisingly fluffy at the ‘Doo.
Lift lines moved OK for how busy it was, even with the @#$&* instructors cutting the line.

When we left at 12:30.... as we got to the bottom of Tflat road.... Were shocked to see the clusterfuck in both directions on 26. Took us a little bit longer than normal. But nothing like the afternoon stop and go experience.

IMHO, I really think timberline and ski bowl should limit day tickets. And lift mazes need to be extended out longer with better signage. There were a lot of people not socially distancing and a buch were maskless.

All its going to take are some cases at a resort and the overlords will shut it down.

It was backed up from around the talking rocks clear through to the turn off from Meadows to 26, and what looked like beyond. Snow bunny looked absolutely packed.

Now that it does not matter for me anymore as I get to now complain about I90 closures, I will let everyone in on a little known secret...hood river route is better, the Gorge is pretty, and it is not really longer, especially when that happens... :)

Right? Scary but possible. I saw a high school ski team coach set a really great example by keeping his mask below his chin till he was almost to the chair. I don't wanna be a karen or a hall monitor. But, I don't want the ski season to go away. Such a gift to have it this year. We should be doing everything we can to keep it, and, our loved ones, alive.

Not sure what you’re talking about, through hood river is pretty rough (variable snow and rain all the time) and you never know when you’ll get stuck in traffic

Its exactly this that made me leave T-Line early today. I was gonna lose it and stab someone w/ my ski pole... So, in the interests of public safety and the insistence of my wife and friends, we left. Between the maskless douchebags (overwhelmingly other dudes) and people riding up the tails of my skis and sniffing my butt-stank in the lift line, it all pushed me over the edge. Also, if you’re IN the lift line, PAY attention, your goddamned phone can wait till your ass is in the chair AND I don’t want to listen to your goddamned conversation on speakerphone either. Jeebus, take the wheel...

Its all good, gonna try to go up tomorrow morning when it should be quieter and I’ll be by myself. Won’t have to deal w/ the friends freaking out over skiing soft snow (they’re still learning). I’m SUPER happy you’re enjoying the Wildcats! Thanks for bringing me a smile on an otherwise not-great day.
