That would actually explain why dbs is the way he is... is that accurate?

The news tonight had doctors citing a "cytokine storm" for the reason young healthy people are dying from this flu. They make it sound like 1918 all over again.
Then there's this:
Going out in public with the flu or cold? You could actually be fined
TRI-CITIES, WA - Did you know that if you leave your house with the flu or cold, you could be fined?
As the flu outbreak continues to grow, people are doing everything they can to prevent themselves from getting sick.
Those who aren't so lucky and already have the flu can be slapped with a fine under a Washington state law if they go out in public. The law states that any person who willfully exposes themselves with any contagious or infectious disease in a public place, without another person's knowledge, can be found guilty of a misdemeanor.
So for those of you sick at home, get some rest and avoid going outside.
The hardest hit community of note from the Spanish Influenza was German Samoa (occupied by NZ at the time). 22% of the population died. They could have quarantined.
John Poyer was the Naval Governor of American Samoa. He quarantined the islands when he heard about the flu. ZERO deaths.
I used the spray vaccine as an example to show that the pharmaceutical companies don't give a shit about your health, they only care about their bottom line.
I linked to the chiropractor sure because he wrote up a good article with many solid links to reputable research which backs up my general opinion about the flu vaccine.
I also posted a link to an article with a quote from a CDC doctor saying that the only reason the CDC recommends everyone take the vaccine is because that was easier than telling the public that "this group, and this group, etc..." should take the vaccine.
In general I try to avoid antibiotics. The extreme overuse of antibiotics is a huge problem for society and hopefully doesn't bite us in the ass too bad.
Why vaccines? Well I'd rather risk getting the flu (again worst I ever got it was the last year I got the flu shot) than risk the side effects of the vaccine. While there is a much higher percentage chance of getting the flu than getting GBS from the flu shot I'll take my chances and bank on the fact that I'm generally very healthy. Additionally I don't trust the other junk in the flu shot such as formaldehyde and aluminum salts. Additionally I am vegan and don't want to ingest gelatin or chicken proteins.
It's simply not worth it to me just to avoid a bout with the flu.
So you still have no evidence against the injected vaccine. And you will take antibiotics even though they come from big pharma. Good for you for avoiding them when unnecessary but are they not part of big pharma?
PS - Ironically, if the worse flu you ever got was the year you received the flu vaccine, it may have saved your life. The flu vaccine reduces the intensity of the flu as a primary goal, preventing you from ever getting it is the secondary goal.

That idiocy alone makes me reconsider my choice.Quote:

Nah, not really.
You really think he's got a "sultry" woman?
Maybe "sulky".
Or "surly".

75 flu deaths in California in people under 65 since October, compared to 14 all last flu season, hospitals running out of beds, doctors, nurses, and Tamiflu.

Do you?
I've never proselytized about veganism. Most vegans don't. It's usually carnivores freaking out. Casually mentioned you are vegan when relevant to the conversation and all of a sudden someone is yelling "bacon! Bacon! Stop telling me to stop eating bacon!".
Not relevant to the conversation. You don't eat the vaccine.
I don't drink soda pop and I am militant about it but if they grew the vaccine in a Diet Dew I'd still get the shot.

I thought this was a thread about flu vaccine. Isn't there a vegan thread where you guys can argue about that.
For the record I don't give a shit what someone else eats, as long as they don't post a picture of it--either before they eat it or after they've digested it. (We've had a couple of the latter, lately.)
Remember that thread DBS started about not being an asshole.
You've been proselytizing here about all manner of things since you became an ex pothead/fat body married to a Panamanian SJW. Before that you were an aggro pothead, Dan Sama acolyte who shirked personal responsibility and bragged incessantly about the amount and quality of cannabis you consumed. I'm not sure which version of you is worse, I'm leaning toward the former.
Perhaps this has been discussed here already, but what's the haps with the "universal" flu vaccine? If they can come up with one that substantially protects against all major strains, I'd be willing to bet that participation rates would skyrocket. I really do believe that the reason that most people don't bother is they feel it's a waste of time and just roll the dice with the odds. If manufacturers came out with something that could deliver on even 75%, that would be huge.
This is an interesting watch, even if it is for the layman like myself:

It would be fucking fantastic, that's what. It would save so many lives, so many resources, so much time, and so much money.
Like I said, with an R(0) value of about 2, if we had something that had a 60% seroconversion that covered all strains, and we could vaccinate 98% of the population and 90% of those people did get vaccinated... there would be no flu season.
On On Point on NPR this morning an expert said NIH spends 1 billion a year on HIV vaccines (a good thing) but only 31 million on flu vaccine so don't expect a universal flu vaccine anytime soon.
Edit...link to article he was probably referencing.

The problem is genetic drift in the flu virus (mutation is not quite correct). This makes it impossible to have a “universal” vaccine.
The other viruses arent as prone to this so can be globally targeted.

They're working on it though: https://www.scientificamerican.com/a...l-flu-vaccine/
let’s generalize everyone bc of some redneck’s tshirt
that’s some stable logic
In animal challenge experiments, groups have been able to get cross-protection by increasing the breadth of the antibody response through the use of targeted adjuvants. In essence, certain parts of the viral coat proteins are subject to more genetic dirft than others, but tweaking the host immune response with immunostimulants can broaden the antibody response to include more conserved regions that are cross-reactive and neutralizing. The big problem with many of these immune-broadening compounds is increased reactogenicity- an over stimulation can also lead to a "cytokine storm" which creates a hard path for regulatory approval from a safety perspective. Also, the ferret and mice models do truly capture the human immune response, so some of the compounds work really well in animals but are less favorable at generating a similar response in humans.
