yup, thats why skis have edges. as good as the snow oftentimes is that i ski up there all winter, there are some days that are downright character building. it's why it's my favorite place in the world to ski, never boring and you have to be so fucking sharp in yer technique up there. every time i go back to the wasatch and touring i find myself in a continuous yawn. nice fer sure, but just not the same challenge as high prez. oh and LOTS less people:D

Thanks, WhiteRoom will be we'll represented around N. Vt this winter with 2 pair at Stowe, 1 at Jay and 8-10 pair or so at Smuggs. A couple back home at Platty also.

Awesome looking skis vinman. Making my own skis is on the list along with a cedar strip kayak. Neither can be started until I finish the trim and cabinets for the house!

I packed up all my gear, but the updated weather forecast does not sound very promising now . . . plus last year I hit 20 years in a row of October skiing (with five October days in a row, immediately followed by seven November days in a row), so now I don't have to worry about my streak! (Or do I have to start on a 30-year goal now?)

Would love to get an update though from anyone there first thing in the morning.

"The low pressure system that screamed up the coast yesterday was a little more potent than expected, and, as of 2AM EDT this morning, had dumped 3.6" of snow on Mt. Washington, with snow continuing to fall lightly thereafter. As a result, the higher summits are now coated in a decent layer of snow and ice, which did not budge much during the overnight as winds remained fairly light. Activities on the peaks today WILL REQUIRE AT LEAST SOME WINTER GEAR, SO PREPARE ACCORDINGLY. Some minor drifting did occur before winds subsided, so be prepared for this as well. When ascending during this time of year, always keep in mind that 50 degree temperatures and sunshine near the base will very often morph into 20 degree temperatures, breezy conditions, freezing fog, and a snowpack near the summit."
