Good news is the high pressure's gone bye bye and the storm door is wide open. Short term doesn't look good for snow, especially at lake level. What's lurking and what may come to visit next week only time will tell. At least the Rose groomers won't be hardpack tomorrow AM.
I just drove up into squaw and it was snowing lightly.
No rain.
It's looking nasty at Rose now. Yes!
It's dumping at the base of Squaw right now!!!!!:D
snowing at 6200 right now.
It's doing almost nothing at the base of Kirkwood right now! :(
Currently snowing in kirkwood. At least out the window I'm looking out of.
I'm sorry mr. woo, but if you had read the fine print you would see that the guarantee is only valid until the weather changes.

KIRKWOOD CONDITIONS GUARANTEE!
Kirkwood is backing its best conditions message with a guarantee. Other Tahoe resorts may report great conditions, but Kirkwood is so confident about its conditions there's a guarantee. Until weather conditions change, guests who purchase lift tickets Sundays - Thursdays and report conditions are not better than any other Tahoe resort will receive one free lift ticket valid for another day!
I'm free friday-sunday and I've got my new ultra-wide-custom-flexed-extra-hyphenated-glissade pad ready to go.

...SNOW ADVISORY IN EFFECT ABOVE 6500 FEET FROM 10 AM TO 10 PM PST WEDNESDAY...
--Discussion...Temperatures below are forecast for the peaks and the base, with highs and lows for both. Yesterday's Low/ High_Caples Lake (7,800' and just up the road from Kirkwood); 38/ 49, Similar to the Top; 30/ 36.
-OVERALL SITUATION TODAY - and Thursday - Clouds increase today with isolated snow showers possible in the morning, becoming scattered and eventually numerous in the afternoon and evening. With snow levels near 6,500 feet today, the lake should see a rain/ snow mix. Significant snowfall is expected above 6,500 feet. Tonight snow levels drop to near 6,000 feet for snow down to lake level, but lighter. On Thursday snow levels go back to near 6,500 feet with additional significant snow at the resort, mainly in the afternoon and on through the night.
--THROUGH 6 DAYS - Friday and Saturday - Low pressure advances northward some, placing the area under a subtropical plume of moisture with snow levels varying from 7,500 to 8,500 feet. We expect a huge amount of rain and snow to fall. The low should remain stationary offshore as blocking high pressure keeps it from moving inland. Significant rain and snow showers are expected each day, with some seriously heavy snowfall potential above 7,500 feet. Small changes in the location of the low offshore could mean large changes in expected weather, but things are looking more on track.
Sunday through Tuesday - Sunday and Monday low pressure moves slowly across the area with colder air for snow levels down to under 7,000 feet. Monday and Tuesday we see snow levels near 5,000+ feet with significant snowfall still possible, but not on the order of what we see coming Thursday through Saturday
8500ft snow level this weekend?
That's great!!
