It's just a dog.

I've fostered a couple of dogs that people have dropped off on my farm and then found great homes for them. The last one, Disco, just won 1st place in the "rescue" class at a dog show. I live in S.C. now and it is so disgusting how many (unfixed) strays are in my county. People suck sometimes but I am happy to see all the animal love here.

The day I put one of my horses down last year (due to chronic injury) was by far the worst day of my life. He had the biggest heart and was very young. I pretty much lost my marriage over that animal. oh well, the horse was worth it (sorry ex). I have 2 more horses, ages 22 and 25. One has been in my life for over 18 years and he is amazing.

^^^ THis was a great book, and merle's door was just as good.

Neighbor's dog just died while I was over there speaking with him. Simply threw up and then died. Tragic. He was a great old Golden soul. RIP BJ.

Really not sure but I am guessing a heart attack. I am not sure if they are going to look too deeply into it. He was waging his tail and walking around the yard one second, and the next he was down. I just started my buddy on heparin injections three times a day. He's got a bad blood clot in his legs. This guy's been through hell the last few years and he just keeps going. He's been with me through some serious shit and I owe him everything. Friends and coworkers have mostly learned by now to avoid any suggestio that a dog's not worth it. There's always going to be one or two though, and for some reason they usually mouth off in front of a larger group. I almost always look them right in the eye and tell them I feel exactly the same way about their kids and parents. Dead Pan.

Wow, that sucks!

Given the symptoms and what my old guy went through before he passed I'd have to agree with the heart attack diagnosis. The vet said that for some reason vomiting is very common when they start having heart problems. My guy had thrown up several times when I found him. He also said that heart issues tend to come on really suddenly. The dog will look fine one minute and be down the next.

Here is a few shots of Nugget, The Nug, nug-chop, fuck-rod, raddest little beast I ever knew. Slept on the foot of the bed 15 years. Lasted through 4-5 girlfriends. Exterminated wild chickens with precision. Stretched a few cats. Crushed big dogs that fucked with him. Loyal and great with kids. Chick magnet. Loved hot showers. Bodysurfed pretty big waves. Gone 4 years and I am still not ready for another dog. Went to work every day with me his whole life. Could sleep on a bag of hammers...I think he could type...

Thought i'd bump a good thread as 8 or 9 years ago while roofin in the West Valley ghettos I found a cool mutt wandering the streets. At the time we had 300lb of newf brothers. So after fostering him for a month or two. We gave him to my neices. This was their first dog and broght them much joy.
Sadly we sent Marley aka Sir Snarly Snizzle on the journey over the rainbow bridge last night due to GI cancer/issues.
I'm bummed I cant find any pics of him on this computer to post.
But godspeed you on your journey guy. You brought those kids a lot of happiness and helped teach them responsibility. I'm glad i found ya and a good home for ya.
give them furkids a hug cause the time we spend togather is always too short

Wow, I just saw this. That was a awesome tribute. I promised my old kittie no more puppies in her home until she passes on, so hopefully a 3 year wait for me. Then we decided to get 2 of the little buddies.

RIP Ferris, you were an awesome looking guy. I know if love could have kept you alive, you would still be here.
