Yes. That, right There, is a dream. Beer, helicopters, and skiing. Yes. The best combination in the world.
Somebody call the Docta!!!! He has the cure!
Has anyone got their 179 soft Bro yet? I would appreciate any initial impressions via hand flex, or more detailed review from on snow experience.
There were no soft 179s made, Harpo. That said, I have been trying to sort through the 179s we have and find the softest pairs of stiffs for people that ordered softs. There's a fair bit of variance in the flexes on this batch as the factory rushed to get them done before finally closing for good. They also screwed up many of the skis we got. I have about six pair left I have to pair up this week. I'm trying to get you a pair, and that is why I asked you to call me later this week.
Sorry Splat, I was getting impatient. I didn't understand the confusion the factory had created in the different flexes, nor when I was supposed to call you. Get back in touch with me when it is convinient.
No prob, Harpo. I had to leave a few people hanging while out of town.
I'm back now and just have to get the last few orders sussed out.
Man this is the Bro rollercoaster. Six more pairs in that there are six more pairs than anticpated so get your order in now.....or six more pairs that have already been spoken for?Quote:

In the meantime, we're getting the factory equipment together and designing new models.
We have a big year ahead of us.
what about a women's ski in 163? Is that in the works or should I be looking elsewhere for my wife?
No plans at this time for a 163, bebe.
Splat, can you enlighten us on your plans are??
Splat
You can put another order down for the soft 179s if you are building a waiting list.
Mr AG convinced him that if he wanted to keep doing this he needs some Bros

The 179s will be perfect for him!

O.k., another review here. Me 5'10'', 170 lbs. Setup with Naxo 21s. Conditions varied all over from hard boilerplate with ice chunks over 1-2 feet fresh pow to a foot of soaking wet sludge.
First off the ski is fun, lively, turny, very lightweight with a nice medium flex (which I even liked a lot more than on my superstiff 188s). Good edgegrip even despite the 90° instead of recommended 88° grind. Overall a dependable tool to be taken everywhere from tight steep chutes to open bowls, in all conditions imaginable.
At first I wasn't confident to go really fast since I had the same issue Meatdrink described despite the 15 mm rearward mount from the line. I just felt the nose diving somewhat due to the short length. I got my stance better adjusted after a few more laps nonetheless still thinking whether it could be improved for me. Finally I decided to take the chance and went back with the mount another 10 mm => BOMBER from then on, very stable.
Finally: no regrets at all about having added the sticks to the quiver after eliminating the Splat factor on the mount ;) . In order to avoid that an additional 5 cm in length would have been the ultimate wet dream.
so, 2.5 cm back. where is that if measured from the tip with no bends in the tape?Quote:

I know APD dropped back a bit as well. I ended up dropping it back to 1000mm after skiing it some more. I haven't spent enough time on them as far back as you, but will take it there. ...not enough time on the snow.
That will change.

Got mine a week or so ago. Splat was nice enough to overnight them and I had them in Mammoth mounted and tuned the next day. I love these boards. I bought them for an everyday ski and mounted them on the line. I agree with the rest of the reviews. These boards will do anything you ask them. The only issue I had was on the flater runs you really had to work to get them turning. Great ski!!!! Thanks again Splat and continued success.
I just tried to order a pair of 179 stiffs through your site so I can get in on the July batch but got an internall 500 error when trying to check out. Is there a problem with the site, or a problem with me?:confused:Quote:

Got it, K.
Things just keep falling in place as we move forward. We have a press on the way and are shopping other equipment. Looks good.
Finally got the Bro's on some medium steep terrain with firm snow. They feel fine in those conditions. I'm confident I could ski them on steep, icy stuff.
is it strange that i'm only 5-10, 135lbs, yet love my 188 softs? Is it strange that at my weight, my shortest ski is 185. just rambling, ignore me
Yeah, I think the softs rule. There weren't any left over for me after filling all the orders, so I dug through the reject pile and found some I'm fixing up. Missing some sidewall on one, and the other has a slice throught the tip from the band saw. Nothin a lil epoxy won't fix. I really want some softs and these will do just fine. We got shorted like fifteen pair and it really bummed me out.
Splat:
When are the next batch of 188 Softs being pressed? Will they be the same as the last round in terms of core/flex/construction?
Thanks
