It’s both gear ratio AND inch gears to consider.
There are many factors involved but to simplify it:
A 32x10 on a 27.5 gets you 88” of forward movement for one full rotation of the cranks.
A 32x10 on a 29er gets you 92.8” of forward movement for one full rotation of the cranks.
Same gear ratio of 3.2 but different inch gears.
Pedaling at a cadence of 100 in 32x10: (simplified)
27.5 = 26.2 mph.
29er = 27.6 mph.

I have a whole “ship of theseus” thing going on here man! once I have replaced everything but the frame, I’ll do the frame, then the wheel set and fork again...
(I probably can’t get away with buying a new bike this close to the kid being born, but the current bike is riding better and better! new tires should make a nice difference...)
