it's easy to miss, because the log which it uses has been there for a few years already. What's new is a rock pile to mount it. There's also a new jump on rider's left of Coalpit Hill on Quarry.

Got it, I'll slow down next time and actually look around. I did see the new jump at least, pretty clean and not too flat of a landing, unlike some of the others...
I'm liking the dirt this year!

Nice, I bet this morning was all-time sticky goodness. Couldn't get out unfortunately, hoping things will still be grippy tonight.
The return of the monsoon has been so welcome after a few years without. Love some lightning shows all night and great dirt the next day!
New to this forum and am moving to SLC next week. I'm really looking forward to the skiing this winter and am going to try mountain biking to kill time until the snow falls. I've gotten a recommendation to check out Go-Ride Bikes which is close to my new home, but have no clue what I want or need. I'm sure they'll be happy to sell me everything, but seeing that mountain bikes run $2000+ these days I'd prefer not to get screwed over. Any brands to take a close look at or to stay away from completely? Is there anyone who rents bikes so I can try a few different ones and see what is going to work for me?
I did Deer Valley lift serve today, was REALLY good conditions. Probably a dust pit again by Saturday.
Berms on Spiro still holding moisture!!! Unfortunately forecast is calling for hot and dry conditions developing into next week so take advantage this weekend!

If you have a van with bike stickers and bike shop logo maybe you can pass as a sponsor for coaching the high school team on Saturday. ;)
New lift access off hidden lake soon. That’s my home mountain. Be sure to see the deer pen and yak farm and for sure get tacos in Eden at don pollo.

The good news is that all bikes are awesome these days. The bad news is that $2k will only buy a fairly low-end full suspension bike, especially if you are buying from a shop and not one of the cheaper D2C brands. Everything will probably work great, but low-end parts are heavy. Most shops do demos and will credit the demo price toward your purchase if you buy from them.
$2k will buy a pretty nice hardtail, though.
There's a great thread that was recently bumped called "$4k Trail Bike" that has a lot of suggestions for moderately-priced bikes.
Sent a PM on some options. Hope it helps. Here are some free pedals to get you started.

Was at go ride today looking at new Santa Cruz nomad. But they had a giant full suspension base model new for $2200. Cool shop peeps and very low pressure sales team

Baldy-big mountain on Friday through Alta had two 5ish minute hike-a-bikes through snow on the way up, then on and off your bike a couple of times for some quick snowbanks on the upper half of the BMT descent. Pretty good overall and the lower half is fantastic!Attachment 420575Attachment 420576
Devils castle was a little snowy still. Probably needs a week to be fully melted out

Happy 4th...

Confused…why not just saw it out? Explosives seem unnecessary. This seems like the FS trend though as there aren’t any salty sawyers anymore on trail and fire crews. Genuinely curious as a licensed blaster and longtime saw. I’ll admit, blowing shit up is fun, but sawing that out looks pretty easy.🤷♂️

That's not photoshopped, its probably a random photo from the web he posted, and probably not from Utah.
Someone bring some C4 to Days then. Besides the 2 or 3 snow patches left from big slides in the Hideaway Park zone, there are 4 or 5 trees scattered throughout the downhill.
Outside of the snow zone things are fairly dry and marbly already. Sad to see the burst of monsoon move away so soon...
I rode Mandelbrot this am, cleaned it. One snow patch was a challenge.
Castle had 2 to walk over, but short.
