Sorry for the sideways photo. I was up in Salmon this weekend too. My Mom needed some electrical work done and we had a mini family reunion. Picture of the same mountains as LBL's from more south perspective. Fire Fighters were camped at the school and the whole town was glad they were there.

Back home for a few days from the Monument Fire in Northern California. My 4th fire of the season. Big fire. Heavy smoke. Worked night shifts way up above Big Bar just south of the Trinity Alps. I have kinda lost my voice for a couple of days now from breathing all that crap. Wearing mask much of the time too. Tents had constant coating of light ash. Incredibly beautiful country. This fire was close to the devastating Carr fire from 2018.
Drove home 900 miles to be with my sweetheart for 40th. ❤

Going in to DP40 at night. Fire across the road in several places. Drove right through that shit, my pickup in front, the semi, loaded with the dozer behind me throwing up fire and sparks like it's somekind of thriller movie. Yow. #monumentfire
