And unsurprisingly, you can’t pay for it with BTC

Hilarious ...
I'm not surprised either, usd is for spending.
What did surprise me was noticing I could pay for my driver's license renewal online with bitcoin. Digging a little further I learned I could also pay my state taxes with crypto.

What’s cash for?
Just because I can send you bitcoin doesn't mean I will send you bitcoin.
What? That wasn’t what they were talking about - no one asked you if you could or would send them BTC.
The term "you" can often be used abstractly to represent a general person or the reader in a scenario rather than directly referring to the person being spoken to. It's a common linguistic device in English to make statements more relatable or conversational. For instance, in, "You never know what might happen," the word "you" doesn’t mean a specific person, but anyone in general. This usage is called the generic you. It’s informal and makes communication feel more personal, as if directly involving the reader or listener in a shared experience.

Great point - yes “you” can send bitcoin to other people. It can be peer to peer. “You” can do it. Therefore yes you can do it.
That fact robs none of the irony from the point that was clearly being made - you can buy a copy of that peer to peer white paper to put on your wall but you can’t send peer to peer BTC to purchase it.

Snow and Bitcoin: A Tale of Frustration
In the picturesque mountain village of Nordzan, where the air was crisp and the snow glistened like diamonds, Benny Mac stood on the slopes, frustration etched across his brow. An avid skier with a competitive spirit, he watched fellow enthusiasts, Shera and Byates, glide effortlessly down the mountain, their laughter ringing in the frosty air. Yet, it wasn't the skiing that troubled him; it was their success in the realm of Bitcoin.
As the crypto market soared, Benny found himself grappling with envy. Shera and Byates, both seasoned skiers and savvy investors, had successfully encouraged countless peers to embark on Bitcoin investments, often sharing their knowledge selflessly. Benny, however, had dismissed their guidance, believing himself more adept at navigating the steep slopes than the digital currency landscape.
“Look at them, prancing around like they own the mountain,” he muttered under his breath, his gloved fingers tugging impatiently at his beanie. “They think they’re better than everyone else just because they were early adopters of Bitcoin. They’re just a couple of lucky skiers, riding the wave of fortune.”
It was at this moment that Benny succumbed to a spiral of self-deprecation. Determined to mask his bitterness, he pointed out the trivialities he believed would justify his feelings. “Sure, they can ski,” he scoffed. “But what about the time they spent fiddling with their computers instead of perfecting their technique? Investing in Bitcoin? That’s just gambling for tech nerds!”
As his grievances unfolded, his fellow skiers could only watch in astonishment. Benny’s attempts at a façade wavered between childish name-calling and erratic gestures, painting a picture of a man wrestling with his own insecurities. In the depths of his heart, he recognized his frail constitution—both in spirit and self-esteem—but could not bear to admit it aloud.
Benny’s lashing out drew the attention of Shera and Byates, who, ever the embodiments of grace and goodwill, approached him with open arms. “Benny, we’re all in this together,” Shera said softly, her voice imbued with empathy. “Skiing is about growth, just as investing is about learning. You can always start, regardless of when you join the race.”
Byates nodded in agreement. “Believe us, we faced challenges too. It’s not about when you begin your journey, but how you embrace it. Join us; let us help you understand Bitcoin.”
Benny, taken aback by their kindness, felt the weight of his bitterness begin to lift. Perhaps, just like skiing down the slopes, investing was another path to navigate. With newfound resolve, he glanced at the two seasoned skiers, realizing that their success did not diminish his potential.
In that moment, as the sun set behind the snow-capped peaks, Benny Mac made a choice. He would no longer let jealousy cloud his vision. Instead, he decided to harness the camaraderie that skiing had always afforded him—not just on the slopes, but in the world of Bitcoin as well. After all, the true essence of skiing—and life—lay in the shared experiences that brought them together.
As the trio descended the mountain together, laughter replaced resentment, and Benny began to understand that every journey, no matter when initiated, could lead to exhilarating heights.

It’s crazy how a new game changing technology has burst onto the scene and changed/improved so many aspects of life in just a couple of years - and did so in the face of people proclaiming “technology takes decades to get adopted - just look at the internet in the 90s as proof”
Thanks for providing examples guys. What a time to be alive!
Well, look at that

I’m guessing TrumpCoin is up too along with his collectible NFTs?
And with Musk running the Department Of Government Efficiency (DOGE) that will lead to price surges there as well? Will the IRS now want your taxes paid with doge coin? Interesting times ahead.
We can't know if bitcoin would have jumped or not if Harris won. We do know that bitcoin has gone parabolic after all the elections, no matter which party won.
