PSA Blizzard Brahma 88 in 180 length with griffin bindings in South Burlington for $175. Notmy skis, but looks like a good deal and likely could find a local mag to help if you are from away.

Peruuan and MNIAW have been sharing pictures of similar troubles in Londonderry.
3" overnight bob but all seems mostly ok so far.
Bridge street bridge cam looked like another 3' of space before it's breeches
Looks bad, stay safe everyone
Sure looks that. Gunna make that big, burly hill even steeper:(
Just saw this drone shot of Londonderry.

I drove that road yesterday at around 4:00 and it was fine. Back in NH now.

just awful, not joking but will they have to declare a state of emergency and get fema down there? it's not irene yet but also not far off?
It looks like Irene level of destruction actually.
Forecast for several days has predicted Irene levels of rain and possible destruction, FEMA is already or will be on the way.
This one may surpass Irene by the time it's done. It is POURING again in the BB.
Oh no. I had no idea this was happening. Sucks. Hope everyone stays safe.
Yikes, conditions for flooding like this have been building for a few weeks. The ground is so saturated that everything that falls just runs off. Stay safe Vermonters. Unfortunately it looks like central/southern VT is again getting the worst of one of these "catastrophic flood" events.
Luckily here in most of the NEK, it has been a slow enough rain event that we've escaped the worst. However, if one of those big heavy slow moving cells wanders over the NEK in the next 12 hours, things could go sideways quickly. Rivers and streams are very full. add another 1-2 inches and some low lying towns are going to have big problems.
This looks worse than Irene, Sam’s Steakhouse, on your way into Ludlow. Northern Ski Works is just up the road on the left for perspective. My buddy Glenn owns the little motel and his home is right before Sam’s on the left. Nightmare scenario.

Thinking of everyone in Vermont. I was in Killington in 2011, a lot of the photos I've seen today look as bad or worse.
Irene at least had the decency to show up when we were approaching drought conditions, which isn't the case this year--it may not take as much rainfall to wreak similar havoc.
So far, it's been a damp day in Western Maine but nothing exciting. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it stays that way.
Londonderry is just destroyed. Our house is safe but the main part of town is underwater and isolated. I came over to NH last night and although we have issues, it’s nothing like SoVT.

Things have gone from bad to worse here. Downtown Montpelier and Barre are under water. I live on a hill and every road off it is closed. I went out for beer earlier and had to ford my truck through some deep water to get home.
My lights just started flickering and it’s still pouring.
Gotta get the generator ready…..

Wow that looks nasty! Good luck. Why couldn't that have come down as 6' of pow??? I guess that also would have been destructive. But more fun

There is going to be a lot of widespread damage by morning. Northern VT is getting the steady rain now through midnight. Trying to get across the state is going to be hard for a while.
Fucking hell...
According to the VTRANS site, right now the only way to get from the east side of Vermont to the West side (or visa versa) via a main road is go over Jay Peak or Route 9 in southern VT. Even I-89 is closed due to flooding.
Montpelier currently under water, Winooski crested overnight higher than during Irene. A lot of water headed downriver. We were spared in the MRV from major damage this time thankfully. My rain gauge has collected 5 1/2" so far but thankfully we didn't have any major downpours.
Hoping all are safe

Just got an update from the Londonderry FD. Most of the main roads have re-opened but the Rte 100 bridge in S. Londonderry is still closed. That's the normal link between Londonderry and the Stratton area.
JHC! Stay safe down there guys.
The eastern NEK was spared the worst. Still some flooding but more like a 5-10 year event. Of course there is always that one driver that thinks they can drive through the water. :rolleyes2

Stupid is as stupid does!
Also, it's times like this that I am reminded to not kvetch during Winter when the snow misses us. This type of storm track comes in handy during rain events.
Sending all kinds of positive vibes to those of you hit hard by this event. It breaks me heart.
^Even at a wet 10-1 ratio, that would have been a HUGE snowstorm.
Tahoe snow.
those images of londonderry are especially awful given the familiarity/closeness to home.
glad your place was spared MNIAW!
hope everyone's staying safe and dry, having power, able to travel the roads.
i don't know how this is being covered on cable news but came across this, a good bit of historical context.
having looked at flood maps over tne past year, this has quickly become too real.
^ thanks M
Sadly, the national news has been in Londonderry and Ludlow most of the week (as well as Mount Peculiar). Boston TV stations have had their folks up our way as well.
pretty sure we have a tornado in montréal
