Three snowmobilers died yesterday in an avalanche in the chic chocs. I don’t have a lot of details as my French is poor
An avalanche accident occurred in a flow valley (depression) on the plateaus of the La Martre valley.
A group of 4 off-piste snowmobilers accidentally triggered an avalanche of estimated size 2.5.
3 people were completely buried by the avalanche deposit. Unfortunately, 3 deaths were recorded.
More details will come following our investigation.
magic looking pretty all-time there:yourock:
good to see the photog getting some!
snazzy air from bankmang to boot!
(sucks though to hear of yet more fallen snow enthusiasts)
Magic is looking great! I’m hoping to swing by on Sunday on the tail end of a long weekend trip.
Any particular reason to choose Okemo over Mt. Snow for a few laps tomorrow afternoon? Going to ski one or the other...kind of indifferent as to which.
If you like traffic jams I’d definitely choose Okemo.
Bummer news from Sugarbush. Over half the mountain shuts down Monday for the heavens gate chair replacement. The top and everything skiers left of lower organgrinder will be closed. And as usual they are pulling the plug on North after this weekend. Kind of a dick move with all of their marketing for eclipse viewing and skiing. It’s not like they just learned about the schedule for the lift replacement.
Sugarbush excels at dick moves. Ask the Egan brothers.

^^ yep, today's single chair post is talking up possible weds-thurs event.
had been seeking monday corn...
now not so sure!
ever since josh's post week's back conceding that winter was essentially over, he's been out front on 2 big ones.
These guys were just ahead of us filming this last week. Kinda cool video - https://m.youtube.com/watch?si=KDpEi...ature=youtu.be
Ha! As an aside that terrain would be SO MUCH better with a new lift and snowmaking. Now that I think of it I’ll remind the folks at saddleback that their mountain would be much improved with a magic carpet that brings folks to the top of Muleskinner. I think I’m onto something here!!! Any investors????

fact.
I told myself as I was arcing my last turns Monday afternoon towards the base at PICO that I was fulfilled, it’d been a good season and it was time to move on. But now I find myself holding up my lighter and looking hopefully towards the stage and saying :
“ ENCORE “
