I waited out the windhold, took some laps in the rain, lots of breaks by the fireplace in the lodge, and then come mid afternoon the temps dropped and we got some snow. Amazing what an inch of snow will do for conditions and your attitude.

Went to the loaf, drove up Thursday morning, we’ll before ski report was out. Showed up at 830 to a breezy day and everything on wind hold except skidway. Sat in the lot until whiffletree spun at 1230. Skied everything I could until the bell. Got out early on Friday for a few runs and then got to the top of super quad and lightning at like 940. Honestly to close for comfort. Started down pouring on the ski down. They shut down for about an hour, but the decision had been made by then and we headed out, expecting a shitty ride home. Ride home was actually good. Stopped in Lancaster at the Granite Grind Cafe for a sandwich. We found it on a quick google. Food was awesome. Cheeseburger soup was killer. Grand summit price wasn’t bad for a midweek night and they will give you a parking permit when you show up if you do a pre-check in with them so that’s sweet.
Side note- pretty sure that they have not done any road work on 16 between Rangeley and Errol since I was in highschool 18 years ago up there… that was brutal.

couple more from yesterday, i found some crazy steep woods with cliffs on a skinner. one turn and the snow would sluff off the refrozen surface. more fun than i’d had in awhile. looks like another rollercoaster next week with a storm coming in warm again.
