3 previous mounts, but I somehow got a new pair of jesters to fit without any conflicts. Now the question is, when will the pontoons see the snow they seek?

Taking the plunge and bought me a 3.6x9 Winterstieger bit so i dont have to pay $60 to move some Adrenalin16 bindings forward 2cm haha. I figure that a remount should be easy enough for a first timer as all i have to do is mark and drill 2cm forward from each pre-existing screw hole... no jig needed.
Ill probably read through this thread again, but it really doesnt seem more difficult than
1) unscrew binding from ski
2) drop some epoxy in the holes and hammer in plugs with mallet
3) mark on taped ski where new holes should go and tap a nail in to start it
4) drill straight down using a 3.5/6mm x 9mm bit
5) drop some wood glue or epoxy in the holes
6) screw in bindings
7) wait for snow
6.1) turn skis upside down while epoxy sets
2.1) cut off plug-shroom-tops flush with ski surface
3.1) Check hole alignment by placing bindings over punch marks.

And get yourself a tap. Mounting skis without a tap is just asking for a spinner. Also, make sure you blow the sawdust out of the holes between Drilling and tapping, and tapping and gluing. If there are filings left down in the hole and you run a screw down in there you're going to dimple your base.
Step -1) buy a real Pozi driver. Don't fuck around with a #3 phillips.
Never owned a pozi driver or tapped my skis. Never had a spinner or my bindings rip out in 25+years of mounting my own fucking skis. But I always crack open a beer or pour a drink so....
I will have a finely chilled can or two of Northwest Lager on hand obviously. Can you just tap the hole with the binding screw by screwing it in a few threads? I mean, its just a poplar/Bamboo core that i will be working with.Quote:

Touch a soldering iron to existing screws for about 30 seconds. This softens up any glue in the holes and they will come right out.
I clamp a Gator V-guide to the ski to make sure my holes are straight (https://biggatortools.com/v-drillguide-faqs). A bunch of ways to do this, but this works best for me.
If you can't drill a vertical hole with a shouldered ski drill bit (like the one depicted below, available from Slidewright), you shouldn't be mounting skis.
