I like the way you can see my friend standing inside the orb.
man outabounds, you're really getting that stuff dialed in. That looks really superb.
I'm pretty lucky to be shooting with one of the top light painters. I've started spinning some of my own orbs, but they're not quite fit for human consumption. I'll probably post one soon for you all to laugh your asses off at. ;)
Check out his photostream. The "native american easter egg" is fucking sick.

I'm only adjusting two settings so I might be missing something. Do you do everything as raw?

Geb what was the light source on all of these? To me they look like they'd all improve with softening of the light source, which may or may not have been possible. I like the smarties photo but I'd like it a lot more with a bit more aperture and some toilet paper or something over the light source. Tell your sister great job on the beers. Stone and Mammoth = my kind of wedding :D
Didn't use a flash, just worked with the lights that were turned on and the sunlight was making its way into the building.
Stone was my brothers choice since it was the only decent beer being sold across the street at Costco and of course the Mammoth Brew Co was my choice...had the back of my subie filled with boxes of beer for the drive from Mammoth to SD.
Finally got this one uploaded, weeeee!

.
I went back out last night and remembered passing this strange old auto shop with massive amounts of florescent light coming from it. Its in the middle of nowhere.

Little advice on this shot. How can I get the shutter fast enough to blur the water but not make the sky look white?
http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/m...3/IMG_8712.jpg
At that time of day maybe just a regular neutral density filter, the sky doesn't look that much brighter than the water. Or both, because you've blown out the water detail - but that's possibly because you were shooting wide open as well. The graduated neutral density filter takes away light from part of the frame. The neutral density filter takes away light from the entire frame. What kind of camera is this? You may have to hold the filter in front of the camera by hand
The camera is a Canon Rebel XT with the 18-55 mm kit lens. I took the pic when the sun was on its way down, at around 6:30 PM or so. There was a UV filter on the camera when the shot was taken. Shutter was 1/6, ISO 200, f/22.0 at 18mm
Had the same issue with this pic to. Really dying to get the moving water pics right. Same camera and settings on this pic too.
