Yeah, good. There's a lot of false talk swirling around online that Ukraine joining NATO is imminent which would in turn immediately trigger Article 5. That's not what this is about. It's about the future. For 75 years the now 32 country NATO alliance has protected its members from Russian aggression. It is one of, if not the most successful mutual defensive alliance in history. That success means allowing Ukraine to one day join NATO restricts Russia's ability to create gray zones in Europe which fuels continental conflict and war.

Who gives a shit
edit: I don't know wtf is going on with the quote, it keeps breaking it into 2 quotes
I'm not saying it wasn't the moral thing to do, it's just that the Western companies got hurt financially more then Russia did.
And i didn't believe that people worldwide give a shit about this.
Certainly the global South is laughing at sanctions.

It’s pretty simplistic to think that Russia is magically unaffected by sanctions.
Once again Rod couldn't be more wrong about, well, everything. Russia is a kleptocracy run by fascist gangsters who seize the assets of companies foolish enough to do business with them:
Russian roulette for Western companies that stayed . The longer you dance with the devil, the more likely you are to get burned.
Western companies that decided to remain in Russia despite its war against Ukraine are realizing with horror that Russian President Vladimir Putin and his cronies no longer have much to lose from seizing their assets.
It’s a fate that more Western companies now fear, as the consequences of such moves — sanctions and capital flight — have already been triggered by the war.

@rod - mafia, cyberthreats/hacking and corruption killed business in Russia, not any virtue stuff.
They are not unaffected but they have adjusted and their economy seems to be doing quite well overall.

xyz cheering on Russia's fascist economy. As a reminder Russia is burning through 80 years of stockpiled Soviet weapons, mobilized its entire economy, sent hundreds of thousands of Russians to die in meat grinder assaults, all in a failed attempt to fully occupy a country with only a quarter of its population and a tenth of its GDP and so far can only grab about 15% of Ukraine. Fascist loving American hating tankies rank among the dumbest people on the planet.
Honestly, I believe US manufactures of Body bags, formaldehyde, coffins and toilets should be exempt.
xyz, did you read the article? The point of the article was that “they have adjusted and their economy seems to be doing quite well overall” is a short sighted take in this war of attrition.
The impact of things like refineries going down due to lack of parts is only now starting to emerge. Some of this can’t be bootstrapped or China’d out of.
To be fair (tooo bee faire) rod is only wrong with his words, his actions tell the truth. When he says "sanctions aren't working" the act of coming here to spread the party line says his sources are working hard to get rod riled up to help end those same sanctions. Maybe they even promised to pay another dividend.
Since rod's sources consistently parrot Russian propaganda, and he only comes here with this specific message periodically, we conclude that Tyler Durden, Sy Hershey's double secret agent (handler) et al are actually very concerned about the sanctions and really hope rod can help.
He can't. And fuck him for trying. But the truth sneaks out because he's le TRG's very own little Kremlin stooge: it's OK to believe something once he denies it.
