Perino said something about the next SL win for America will tie Austrian for all-time. I need to dig into that stat, but that is astounding and a testament to Shiffrin the Evil Empire Slayer. I feel like she needs a Marvel comic book series in her honor.

Bummer about PM. Crazy that her victory was this large. Goes back to the pre-Vlhova days where she was winning SLs by that margin almost consistently.
We've all seen it before, but she is just sooooo smooth she makes it look easy. I think it has been a while since a margin like that over Vlhova that didn't involve a DNF by one of them.

She came on the FIS scene in 2010 starting at the back of the pack, finishing top 10s.
Who is this girl?
Googled her and learned that she'd won both Topolino races the previous season by 3 seconds. Vhlova was fifth in that slalom if I remember right.
And she won one of the races at the Whistler Cup that year by 3 seconds, DNF in the other.
Not able to see any of those results now.
Anybody more savvy with that stuff?
Unreal that she has maintained that margin on occasion for her career to date...

So..Does Vlhova make her better? I almost think w/ Shiffrin it doesn't matter.
Arguably the top female athlete in the history of sport, and we can't watch her compete live on TV. What a travesty.
Ski and Snowboard Live have the coverage, but I agree this should be covered by major TV. I wish ESPN would wrestle the tv rights away from NBC since they are only broadcasting the races hosted in Austria.Quote:

Update: Shiffrin takes second. Check the time splits; huge differences. Hector won big. Shiffrin over a second faster than Robinson in third, and she was almost 2 seconds faster than 4th.
Been enjoying seeing shiffrin's skiing this season.

Mikaela crashed in the Downhill run and was taken off the snow with what appears to be a left leg injury. So awaiting further diagnosis information on the knee and extent of her injury.
