XC trails there are a fee area but I have an alpine season pass.
Virginia Meissner is also good for towing the kid around.

My oldest was only so-so enjoying himself in the trailer/sled/anchor. He got cold fast and had his own ideas of what he wanted to do in the snow. My twins were really into it either. Reasonable expectations.
All were (and still are) into shuffling on skis (starting when they could walk), alpine skiing (starting at mild sledding hills), sledding, eating snow, building snowmen, postholing, jumping off things into the snow, adventuring in the snowy woods, gentle snowball fights, and (sometimes) shoveling. Tasty snacks and warm drinks (usually mint tea) are always helpful.
^ on that note, the Strider or FirstBike ski kit for the balance bike are THE BOMB for young kids. It helped my older kid understand the sensation of gliding and she transferred that to her alpine skis. It gave her something to switch it up to when she got tired of skiing and fruit snacks could no longer keep her interest for the day. And our local resorts are totally cool with taking the balance bikes up the magic carpet. I would also hang it off the handle of the ski trailer and we would ski bike on towing breaks.
I keep posting about it, I can't stress enough how gleeful 5yo me was when my mom did a faceplant into deep pow on XC skis with my baby sister on her back. I'm such a dick. My sister woke up from a sound sleep with snow packed all around her and started howling something fierce. My mom was trying to get the snow out of the baby and smack me at the same time because I was laughing so hard I almost pissed myself.

I work at Bachelor so usually head towards Meissner or the Bach Nordic Center. The lady I bought the sling from said she skate skied with the double trailer, I was impressed.
On the topic of games-- I'm a teacher and my children are 8, 11, and 14. I never really gamed. I played street fighter a bit, but whatever. Never really clicked with gaming. I ski.
So, I and my wife were quite adamant about not getting a gaming unit. We were wrongly biased. One day before last christmas my wife says: "Our kids are the only kids in their schools who don't have a gaming platform." I replied: "Maybe that's why they're interesting, they have to create other topics of conversation to join in."
Anyway, we gave in and got a Switch for "Family Game Night." We knew that would eventually stretch into nearly everyday, but thought we'd try to be slow with the transition. And I have to admit my surprise. They are all super engaged, communicating with each other and with their online teams. I've never seen my kids get along so well. I mean, they weren't really fighters before, but our Switch has had very, very positive results. I kinda feel bad I was so stubborn for so long.
Another change is that they're no longer spending time as vegetables watching brainless youtube videos on the flat screen. I much prefer watching my kids game over seeing them zombie in front of a TV.
My kids are young, they play Zelda, Splatoon, Mario, Apex, and Pokemon. But they're all involved even when it's just one controller.
I just dropped my 4 week old baby. 2:30am carrying him upright after feeding, and then he’s on the ground. Fuck me.

Just had my first school shooting threat experience today. Some asshole posted online that he was going to bring a gun in and shoot another kid. Someone else reported the threat to SafeToTell and school was swarming with cops this morning. At noon, most parents picked up their kids, who were all texting their parents they were scared. Mine included.
