You can see the dust layer everywhere here. Our cars have the same distinct red dust which you can see in the snow in W Vail
It looks like everyone just got back from the desert. Except we didn't get to have fun in the desert, it just fucked us.
well, at least it's dumping this morning, covering up the brown frown.

anybody hit up the festivities at the basin today? Couldn't myself since the GF is a VR employee and got blocked there only for today, although I more or less only care to know if the east wall opened today because it almost looks like it didn't from the webcam but it's hard to tell.... soooo did it anyone? haha
It's been open most days lately so I would assume it was open today. I accidentally went there on gaper day a few years ago and intentionally miss that day from now on. It's so ironic that most of the people making fun of gapers, are themselves gapers.Quote:

I didn't see any noticable dust at berthoud (fri), rmnp (sat), or IPW (sunday)... BUT my car was dusted monday morning (front range) from the wind/rain storm that blew through sunday night... Anyone been to any of these more eastern/divide areas recently notice the dust? Looks like central state got fucked... pretty discouraging... hopefully it snows 10ft this month and covers that shit up until june!
There was a dust layer at Loveland yesterday, a couple of inches down. Not bad, but it's there. Made for some funky riding.
Shredding pow with wounded vets at Snowmass, doesn't get much better. Deep spots abound.

Yeah real nice snow with that lack of wind. Skiing at the basin was fantastic again! third 8 inch pow day in a row!!!! although there was definitely more like 10-11 when I got up there.

WP/MJ was a blast. There was a legit foot of new overnight at first chair. Nice spring density, and enough to cover the scrapy base and make all of the tree runs ski full blast.
