Hey is anyone interested in a tour in the Presidentials this weekend Sat and/or Sun? I camp at Dolly Copp if I stay over.
My usual tour buddies can't go and it looks like a decent forecast.
I have skied with a bunch of mags on this forum so ideally someone with whom I have skied or once removed (you have skied with someone I have skied with).
GOS or hillman's?
PM me if you might be interested.
Or I would love to tour in the Greens, just need to be shown the way. @Laps??
edit to add: if no takers I will probably just go to Kmart solo and car camp at Skyship.
Jhyatt, have you checked avy forecast?
Yes it's considerable.

I was thinking west side. Ammo/cog kind of thing but keeping an eye on it.
Nice squall line hitting the Greens as we speak, Stratton Cams are kind right now.

Pico cam shows folks skinning up, should be a nice lap

Edit:Reports of thunder-snow in SoVT right now, where’s Jim Cantore when we need him most
"the ropes are for others"
that could be an ECRC motto.
nice work buttah::yourock:
and hell, we got a nice squall here in the flatlands.
ditto 365wp
looks great up north.
may get up MRG yet!
(still kicking self for fearing wind holds and bailing on a week ago mon:( )
Solid Mines trip, such a difference from the sad Patrollers Wall photo to the Front Door score.
Crazy squall here, went out to look at a small job at some previous customers and it just started nuking, almost two inches in a half hour and another inch+ driving back home behind cars going 20mph.
Certainly adding up

Thx, we got lucky!
4 13/16" of fresh from last evenings squall [two(2)thumbs] with intermittent gusty breeze @12º bob.
Travel impacts look like it would be wise to hunker down Friday ;)

Had quite the uphill lap at Mt. Ellen last night. Started off at around 40 degrees, skinning in a fleece and no gloves. Snow started lightly coming then it was an all out whiteout by the time I got to Walt's cabin. It probably snowed 3-4 inches in that 90 minute time frame.
Coverage is looking good with more snow coming and clear skies on Sunday. Go get it.

Was about to go up for Dawn Patrol this morning, wind chill of -15F so I held off.

This season has been low key decent, especially at higher elevations. Probably the biggest disparity between conditions at the house and the hill 30min away in the six seasons we’ve lived here.
Knock on wood the forecast holds for the weekend, hope you all are able to get out and enjoy it.
10+ at the loaf with a whole lotta breeze, unlikely any lifts turn today

Sunday River is running five lifts, but only one leaves the ground, and I think it was running at reduced speed. Wind is forecast to pick up, word was that the t-bar likely would not last through the day.
4-6" reported, 2-3" in my dooryard, I'll buy it. Lee side of the trail was pretty good for a run or two this morning.

We're at Freestyle US Nationals in Waterville, NH. Holy shit this is a lot of wind!! First time as an East Coast skier, so I feel this is a proper introduction.
Hopefully the wind settles down a touch for the racing the next two days.
