All the work in Idaho Springs is not done, but hopefully the new toll lane testing will be done soon from 40 to the new bridges in Idaho Springs, fucking slow ASSHOLES. Sturges are slow as fuck.
What about around Guenalla on the south side near 285?
What he meant to say is that it's going on winter hiatus and will remain in this half-assed condition until they resume next summer.
And WTF didn't really just cite this i70 project as proof he understands how transportation works, did he? Fucking amazing. Which ideas do you think were his?
Leaving cones up over weekends with no equipment, workers, or road work present.
Placing barrels out in open lanes of traffic.
Leaving visible lane lines that indicate converging lanes with no signage.
Leaving lane closure signs up creating merges and slow downs after closures had been removed.
Scheduling westbound closures for 8am and eastbound closures for 5pm.
Refusing to work overnight for the first 12 months.
Scheduling one bridge removal for October, resulting in its removal in December, and then making the exact same mistake again the next year, 2 miles away.
And the hits just keep on comin'! Now we know why WTF is being such a dumbass about this... not only does he think it works, he's one of the morons who came up with the idea!
Do yourself a favor WTF. If you think you have a future in transportation, go spend some time with a crew that knows what they're doing. Perhaps if you ask real nice, the NYS Thruway guys will let you carry their lunches and you can watch how it's done.
don't be a dumb ass two years ago the thruway cut jobs to save money, so they laid off the plow guys and the people who patch potholes while all the worthless pieces of shit in the office who do nothing but push paper around kept their jobs, sounds like a top notch orginaization, you should also try to do business with the the state of ny, it will be one of the most mind blowing experiences you've ever had, the shear redundancy and supidity of people
know what your talking about before you say something stupid
Lol. Layoffs mean they don't know how to manage a road? Care to look up the history of cdot workforce management? Keep stroking each other off. We haven't even gotten to the part where you retards decided to build a tunnel lane for a lane that doesn't exist and has no plan to exist, instead of repairing the bridge on one that does!
I wish I could be a fly on the wall when you guys go for interviews...
"So, tell me about your experience..."
"Well, I worked on the I70 project between Floyd Hill and Geo... HEY! LET GO OF ME! OW! CUT THAT SHIT OUT! OK! I'M LEAVING ALREADY!"
NYS Thruway is flat with less than 100" of snow annually. Good comparison.
Get your expresstoll passes and embrace the butthurt. Starting Saturday, it's on!
How did this I-70 toll lane thing go down anyways?
The tunnels were expanded by tax dollars in order to alleviate congestion at cost of hundreds of millions and years of inconvenience. Then a third lane was added in certain sections at additional public expense. Suddenly all this investment was allocated to a private public partnership and the extra lanes only available via toll. What I missing here?
Edit : so does the Toll lane extend through the tunnels or just to Idaho Springs?
285 is the new I70
Plenty of places on the Thruway see greater than 100" per year, whereas the vast majority of the I-70 corridor does not. The snowiest part of the NYS south of the lakes is 190 miles long, where the I70 corridor is 140 miles. And while I70 certainly sees greater changes in elevation, the NYSTW infrastructure is 30 years older and sees 10X as much traffic.
You Colorado folks love sniffing your own farts... Every problem is soooo unique... No one could possibly have any information to contribute... This perpetual shitshow you guys have created through the lack of road maintenance and lack of driving knowledge couldn't possibly be improved.
What a bunch of tools you guys are.
I can't help but laugh at the clown comparing the NYS Thruway to the I70 corridor through the Rockies. Good stuff!
You spent time upstate? Doesn't sound like it. Only places getting 100"+ consistently are southwest of Buffalo (again, FLAT to the PA border) and north of Syracuse around Tug Hill and Parrish on I-81 (not Thruway & flat). Only place with "traffic spikes" along the lakes is I90 through Buffalo. The big snow totals in western NY will shut down the thruway and strand people overnight. I70 can blow sometimes, but you're not spending the night out there.
Now there's a solid argument... very well thought out. Laughing, clowns... Sounds like you're up to date on your meds. See if you can mention the pretty colors in your next post.
Having driven tens of thousands of miles on both, I'd say there's a comparison to be made. And that's not to say they're 100% equivalent, but CO's take that no one could possibly understand how hard they have it is far more comical than anything I've said.
Keep it up folks This thread is daily entertainment.
was thinking the same. Kudos to stfu for keeping it up. Not sure if really believes it or is just trolling, but either way...
“It is not a full, brand new lane. The solution is temporary in nature,” Ford said. “We hope it will give us 5 to 10 years to develop more permanent options to address issues in the corridor.”
