That beater skipup only learned about the wolverine cirque this year after being an Alta "local" for 10+ years. Arguing on a ski forum is obviously more important than actual skiing. He's not alone.
Cause I don't remember names of stupid Backcountry lines means I never skied main chute...hahaha..come ski bro..you'll see. Try to keep up.

Skied pow too last week. Was it Friday? Sorry was Friday before..this past Friday was odd skiing as snow at Alta had a crust and vis was low. Had some good runs though. Ballroom and thirds were good. Think you did storm skiing I waited til it was deep. Was about 10th through high notch that day. Run of the day for sure. So what's your point? I ski plenty enough. No need to dick wave ski days I'm not 15.

I am not in favor of a tram on Baldy, the reason I ski Alta is the ability to go places touron's don't want to go or don't know how to get to. Back to me being delusional, here is what Alta said last week.
For example, the installation of a tram to the top of Mount Baldy only becomes a priority if we lose the ability to use military weapons or avalaunchers for avalanche mitigation work on Mount Badly.
If we did lose the ability to quickly do avalanche mitigation work on Mount Baldy, there would be many days when we could lose a significant amount of skiing in Collins Gulch. More information regarding why Alta would install a tram to the top of Mount Baldy.
We are disappointed with the misinformation and half truths regarding Alta Ski Area and our projects that are being promulgated by groups such as, including Save our Canyons to further their cause. They fail to recognize the actions taken by Alta Ski Area to protect and improve the well-being of Alta’s natural environment. Instead, they tend to portray Alta as a destroyer of wetlands and the environment.
To set the record straight, please note that any project that impacts wetlands within our special use permit will include mitigation measures to create additional wetlands. While the new Supreme lift project last summer disturbed approximately 560 square feet of wetland, Alta Ski Area created 3,000 square feet of wetland to mitigate this impact.
Alta Ski Area is recognized as a ski industry leader in sustainability and protecting the environment. We work with the Forest Service to maintain a healthy forest by removing hazard trees, diseased trees and thinning trees in selected areas. We plant approximately 1,500 trees annually which have been sprouted from seeds collected in Alta and grown for three years before returning them to Alta for planting. We collect seeds from native plants, including wildflowers, dry the seeds and then use the seed in re-vegetation projects. We maintain trails and roads as directed by Forest Service. Maura Olivos leads our Alta Environmental Center (AEC), which oversees our environmental activities. The mission of the AEC reflects a real love, concern and passion for improving and protecting the Alta environment.
The Future
Alta Ski Area is committed to working with our stakeholders and partners to accommodate and manage growth in environmentally responsible and sustainable ways that enable us to preserve the heart and soul of Alta. Issues that we believe should be priorities include traffic flow, parking, public transportation, improved avalanche mitigation methods and infrastructure improvements that can accommodate growth. While growth is inevitable, we believe that it can be embraced in a manner that minimizes impact while sharing the natural beauty of Alta. We invite you to help us do so.

I invite alta to limit daily skier amount
The daily skier amount according to what?
In the 80's cars were turned around for lack of parking.
Lift lines did not allow one to get a proper ski day or workout.
The fact that Alta does not allow snowboards is a super limiting factor already. The grandpa that has snowboarding grand kids is not spending his money at Alta.
I, for one, really dig the fact that the current owners are not in it for the almighty dollar. Providing a certain experience is equally as important.
If you feel really strongly against a certain project, then say so. To Alta.
If you fight every single battle, no matter how small, as SOC does, then your opinions will not truly be appreciated.
Night all, corn skiing good right now, no?
I don't believe or trust Mike Maughan for a minute. He's an accountant who doesn't ski, I think he is only concerned with the bottom line. You really think Alta spent all that money and time to get those proposals approved just to sit on em?
I'd also like to know where those 3000 sq ft of wetlands that they created are.....
Anyways went skiing this evening, trying to catch that refrozen corn. Probably should have stayed home and argued some more on the internet #kissyfacehttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7ddbe614b5.jpg

This is the second time someone said that Mike Maughan does not ski, that is wrong. I had no idea who he was until this season, rode the lift with him wearing his name tag. After that I saw him regularly out and about. We saw him at Alf's and Watson's walking around, talking to employees, talking to customers. Saw him at lifts talking to employees etc. We bumped into him one day on Supreme and I mentioned one particular lift supervisor who does a great job, he thanked me, said complaints are what he normally hears. I saw him more this year than I saw Onno in ten years. Mike was at the top of Collins watching the events unfold with Patrol when the skier suffered cardiac arrest. Saw him skiing on a groomer, he seemed to be better than average. BTW, he made the decision to continue to spin Sugarloaf the last three weekends, Onno always shut it down.
I asked some employees about changes and how they liked him and comments were generally positive.
Maybe the new wetlands are where cecret lift use to live? The Flora lift will recreate an entire "lake".
The tram to baldy was an Onno idea. I don't know if they'll hold off like the statement says or not, have heard mixed responses on this.

It’s a simple thing to limit ticket sales. Certain resorts do that and that is all I was saying.
I like alta and have had some great days there. I also have seen a lot of terrain shut down and it get tracked in 2 hours. I like wildcat but it is really slow and if the lift went a bit further/faster that would be better IMO.
Lift to previous hike to only terrain, ask Jackson locals how that turned out.
I live in the north and Ski the north mostly. Maybe we can Ski alta on one of those good days ;)
Classic Skidog, what a douche.
My first time to Alta in ‘88, my brother and I got off at the top of Sugarloaf. Back when there was a small Patrol kiosk, and you had to check in, before you hiked up. I bet none of you midwestern or tri-state transplant beaters, remembers that, do ya? Anyhow, Patrol asked where we were from, we said NH, he said, have at it. We thought it was always open, being that it was our first time there. We skied perlas and Little, that day. Little had like three tracks down it when we got to it. I took a great pic of my bro, from behind with the rock and snow filled walls on either side. Skied it on my Kastle 203cm SL’s.
Good times, good times
Big talkers that don't show to ski are just talkers. Skied with many a mag. I bet you'd be hard pressed to find one that says I can't ski.
Keep on keeping on brah.

A buddy and I are planning to hit Suicide Chute for the first time Saturday morning. A couple questions for the more wise:
1) I'm thinking we want to descend around 9 am for best corn quality / avy risk.... Does that sound right?
2) Should I have boot crampons?
3) If yes, anybody got some boot crampons I could borrow / buy? I'd rather not spend $150 on a brand new set since I'll rarely use them.
Thanks!
Oh, and a little stoke from the 2nd closing day at Alta...the banked slalom in action:https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...551a4398a8.jpg
1. I’d say earlier. It’s east facing and that will be the first to get sun. Looking at overnight temps I think I’d try to be at the top by 730.
2. Hopefully you need them. If you don’t, it’s probably too soft.
3. I’d lend you some but I’m in Ogden and am planning to be using them.
I agree with zion zig zag, but with this preface: having been in that neighborhood yesterday, I'd wait a few weeks to ski old country lane as it typically smooths out as the summer skiing season progresses. there was a good amount of junk and roller balls in the chute yesterday. There was a booter in the chute yesterday, so that might allow ya to go without crampons, but like ZZZ said, hopefully you'll need them.
REI and the UofU outdoor rec center both rent crampons. If you go to REI, make sure to ask the wizard for beta on suicide. The gear room probably has a used pair you could pick up too.
