All true! Their hot sauce selection is awesome though.

Anyone been to victors pizza on 3900 S 545 W? Really good reviews on google
Did snowmobile pizza the other week and it was pretty good, but the pickup order was ready 25 minutes after they said it would be, so wasn't worth the 30 minutes of car time (for me) + 25 extra minutes IMO.
Per Jtran he and I and our lady friends went to Franklin Ave for dinner, great meal. Great cocktails. The Backdoor behind the new laziz also had great cocktails

I believe Sale, since it's now Laziz out front on 200S and back door on edison. Quick google shows no more curry up now in SLC.
I would be remiss if I didn't post a public condolence here for the family, friends and fans of Valter. He will be missed, as he was a major reason for me patronizing his wonderful restaurant. He will be missed.
My daughter was hired today to be a baker at a new restaurant opening soon, Italian Graffiti. High end Italian dining spot at the Gateway, she’s pretty excited. It’s owned by the folks that opened Hallpass, also in the Gateway.
Anybody been to Hallpass? We may check it out this weekend.
Went to Ombu a couple weekends ago, I’m not much of a restaurant foodie type but I thought it was good.
Thanks Phall for the backdoor laziz rec, nice little spot
Yeah, went to hall pass once cause some people from work went there, meh. I won't be going back.
Is there a non-bar in Salt Lake that has equally good btg wine and cocktails (ability to make modern classics, so many 'concepts' bill themselves as a cocktail bar but don't have half the necessary bottles) and nice small plates? Ideally can equally deliver a glass of wine and pâté or oysters and a martini, but whatever.
Most importantly I need to be able to take the baby and don't want to see a bunch of dads in button down fishing shirts.
Like this, ratty river guide for scale.

The baby thing is hard here. We had some drinks at The Pearl tonight and I think it’s a great spot but 21+. Kimi’s oyster and chop?

Currently on a gourmet sandwich kick - Tried Central 9th Market yesterday - great sandwich. I want to go back and try different ones. Once the construction is finished around there it's going to be a cool neighborhood IMO. Today I tried Deadpan sandwich, the BLOT is great. Now I know what to do with all my green tomatoes at home - pickle them and put them in sandwiches! They need more variety at Deadpan though, I don't have a big desire to try all their sandwiches like I do at Central 9th. Woodbine is cool but I don't know if it will survive....maybe 5-10 years too early for it.
Can't start babies drinking early if they don't see it firsthand.
Love SLC and PC, but holy shit are the drinking laws stupid in the beehive. It makes dry counties scattered throughout the east look rational in comparison; at least there you can enjoy your non-locally-purchased booze with your infant like God intended.
Who as at Beltex Meats in a TGR sweatshirt today? I know the odds are small this person is on the board here, then again I think someone recently recommended the place here??
That place is crazy impressive btw for many reasons.
It is a shame that we have to say good-bye to Hector's this week. It will be missed.d
In town this weekend. Was planning to bike but too much snow. No lifts turning yet so not skiing.
Any ideas for things me and Mrs EWG should do Sunday or Monday? Saturday is full.
Go quietly insane like the rest of us?
Or maybe Gilgal Gardens, Antelope Island, Sun tunnels and then have a soda at Grouse Creek, LDS Conference Center (trust me - it's crazy big and the tour guides are 'interesting') Natural History Museum, Land Cruiser Heritage Museum, Kennecott Mine (but it may not be open for visitors right now), see if the Lucin cutoff gate is open and just goooo for it, rockhound in the Lake Mountains, go to Little Sahara and Instagram it, or gorge yourself on a restaurant tour from this thread.
