Can’t deny Hitzig’s absurd backflip, but Gougen’s run was as Smoothy acknowledged “super critical”. After landing that 360 in an exposed steep pocket and accelerating over the next drop, having the strength and technique to simultaneously redirect, punch through the lip, regain his composure, and pull for the backflip, is as impressive as anything I’ve seen done on skis. A seamless combination of the performance of a World Cup ski racer and a park skier, on the most committing terrain.
