That Hitzig backflip was just perfect, Smoothy's call out to Seth Morrison was spot on, just a super relaxed laid out backie perfectly stomped like you would see Seth pull in the movies, calm AF. Awesome to see Marcus right up there, super impressive skiing to get the left hander with that much speed to square up to the backflip when others (including Reine, a power turner himself) couldn't get turned in time. Impressive skiing this comp especially given conditions.

Condolences to those lost in the T2.5 slide yesterday, just brutal, looked huge. 950m run-out 1.5m crown.

Mumma's run was sick as well, can't believe he managed to save his ass on the approach to the big huck, some quick feet. I thought he was done for when he barely cleared one of the rock shelves, his hips looked like they were inches from tapping. Would have been ugly.
Watching Palm on that bed surface made my knees scream. Some of the hits he took would have snapped me in half.
Moga needs to go back to the drawing board for a bit, his approach of finding the rockiest spot on the face and hucking his carcass into it isn't paying off. Not sure how many of his 9 lives he's burned through at this point.

I loved Sam's seth call out on that backy. Stick a fully on Max's head and that could have been straight out of one of his segments. Awesome! Thatvkid is going so huge and mak8ng it look so smooth.
I think Leif has taken over the spot of my favorite skier to watch just ski from turdell. Sadly didn't get scored in early venues for big mountain skiing. Does he have any movie segments yet?

Super impressed with Muma's skiing, would love to see what he would do on the Bec.

The big flip for the win I think sets the bar for what many of us here would like to see the progression of the tour come to. At least it does for me.

Sure, bring on the tricks. But do them in the fall line with speed into the biggest features available.

obviously the best skier on the tour. but this isn't the Skiing World Tour.

Hitzig's flip was insane. I was looking at that hit earlier in the broadcast and assumed no one would hit it because of the conditions. Fucking nuts.

Bummed for mumma and also Jack Nichols. Tough luck. Watching max palm deal with the debris was kinda wild.

Really enjoyed smoothy on the mic. Reminds me of early Rob Warner commentating on DH bikes. Speaking of which, I hadn't realized Craig Murray is Charlie Murray's brother. That's a talented family.

That backflip is the best thing I’ve ever seen on tour. Just mind boggling how smooth and huge it was. And to stomp going that big is beyond impressive.

There’s lots to criticize about the venue but it is conducive to fall line skiing.

Today’s comp was a visceral reminder of my youth skiing at Louise and Sunshine. Everything’s great and all of a sudden Wham!!! You are shark-f*cked to a terrifying degree.

Probably the sickest thing I've ever seen in a comp. Maybe. More so because homie is 20.

This new, young crew is amazing. It's a whole new sport from just 5 years ago.

Best backflip in the history of the tour, no question. Wow.

Pollard's 3 was $$$.

Rainer should have scored above Goguen.

Super bummed Oscar Mandin didn't get a score. Loved his double and bottom air.

Agreed with the judges a bit more on this comp. Gnarly conditions separated the riders quite well.

What’s the estimated drop on Hitzig’s cliff? I’m thinking 40-60’ but hard to say.

They called it 20 meters when Yu Sasaki hit it, and I think hitzig went a little bigger. So if that's accurate, it's probably approaching 70'.

3 weeks until Feiberbrunn…. Would be great to have another stop between now and then.

Well— it would be great to have a few stops in NZ, Chile, Argentina ….

They’re doing their best and I’m grateful.

We’ve got five stops so far.

Can’t deny Hitzig’s absurd backflip, but Gougen’s run was as Smoothy acknowledged “super critical”. After landing that 360 in an exposed steep pocket and accelerating over the next drop, having the strength and technique to simultaneously redirect, punch through the lip, regain his composure, and pull for the backflip, is as impressive as anything I’ve seen done on skis. A seamless combination of the performance of a World Cup ski racer and a park skier, on the most committing terrain.

I agree. I was hesitant to give it to Hitzig as his line was much less technical but even breaking it down with ifsa scoring it’s hard to give it to Gougen. If Gougen had sent as nice of a backflip as Hitzig with a bit more pop, maybe.

As much as I hate seeing two hit comps and it was a shame the centre of the face was garbage, KH makes for one of the more entertaining stops. I love how runs are fall line and there actually turns being made on the faces. I don’t know if the other venues are mellower but there is so much long distance drifting and traversing mid run.

Absolutely! I cheered when he pinned it into that turn to que up that next feature after coming out of that upper sharky drop just on fire. Unreal.
That backy was just insane by Hitzig. Holy hell.
