I have my minions looking for a bottle as we speak. Tough bugger to find right now.

ECBP is attainable here for $60 on occasion.
Any opinions on Little Book Chapter 4? Mrs C and I each won a bottle in the lottery.
I’m a fan of off the shelf Bookers which up until a few months ago was readily available. It’s tough to find now around here. Right before Covid, there was a bar downtown charging $8 a glass as their hidden locals pour. But, haven’t been to a bar in awhile so no idea if that’s still the case. About three weeks out to pick up the Chapter 4.
Utah is a booze wasteland, as are even the stores over the borders. Still not enough to make me happy I moved away. In fact while I lived in utah for 12 years I rarely drank at all, now? Weekly. Never more than a mild buzz though. Hangovers hurt too much.

I’m having some Booker’s Granny’s Batch right now. Mmmmm

I watched this when it came on. I realized I haven't heard a damn thing from the UTAH DABC lottery I signed up for a year ago. I had a plan for how many bottles of Pappy I would sell to cover the cost of the ones I would keep if I won. I realize now that I will be buying as many bottles as I can and hoarding them. I have yet to hear anything on the lottery though...
The price in utah on pappy's is the best due to regulations. As for the booze? I was personally unimpressed. Great marketing though.

Local shop recommended this Bib and Tucker 92 proof 6 year. Absolutely phenomenal

Have to check that out.
based on whats behind it I like what you like.
Nice wild Turkey glass
Recently had the '20 Old Forester Birthday Bourbon. REALLY good. The '19 was one of the top 3 bourbons I tried last year. I recall the '19 being a touch better, but they are both up there. Wish they made more of this stuff as it's hard to come by. Their 1910 continues to be my favorite in their regular/easy to find lineup.
Any opinions on Smoke Wagon out of Nevada? LLS was trying to sell it hard to me.
11 years and a lot of bourbon later my answer to the OP query remains the same.
Since we have moved on to other good bourbons I have tasted I gotta say I keep coming back to this

used to be able to find it for about $30, price has inched up but still so good.
I think 100 proof is my sweet spot ( see also all bottled in bond options)
Everything I've had from them has been solid, including their $30 bottling. Grab an uncut (barrel proof) if you can find it. Not cheap at around $75 but worth it IMO. Lots of spice from the high rye mashbill. All sourced from MGP. The owner posts tasting videos on IG for each batch.
Really liking Filibuster Dual Cask Bourbon. Caramel and a touch of floral. Easy drinker. Not your bourbon if you want a kick or spice.

Having a couple friends over for some wheaters on the porch.

One of them recently bought a Weller SR and was excited about it. He was a little underwhelmed so I figure he can try a few more before writing off wheated bourbons as something he doesn’t like. It might turn into a scotch night after some disciplined tasting, though.
^ Yeah, that’s the thing about Weller SR - it’s really pretty good for ~$25 a fifth. It doesn’t hold up for the prices that people are charging now.
That’s a nice lineup for an evening of tasting. He should like the Antique and 12 yo. And I like Bowman a lot.
I did end up carrying out an armful of scotch, but the wheated bourbons were a nice start. The Bowman is Abraham batch 14, which was a 9-year-old wheater. I bet they don’t get much of that juice from BT anymore.
There was a single bottle of Old Forrester 150 anniversary at Costco today. It was out of place with no sign and couldn’t find a price. Starting to kick myself for not at least seeing the cost was.

This batch of Elijah Craig Barrel Proof is excellent. Some are putting it on their bourbon of 2020 lists. I need to remember to 'warm up' my pallet with a 90 proofer first.
I haven't been able to stumble into anything else this year, but my buddy in NY has and just shipped me a case of sample bottles and a Midwinter Nights Dram...
