Dame to the Bucks.
Did not see that coming.
Damn I was hoping for a Miami trade with Hero to the Jazz. That starting line up for the Bucks is going to be tough!

I like Hero. Especially if it whittles away at Miami. Fuckin Butler.
Jrue back to philly?...fingers crossed.
1. Bucks gotta be favored to win the title
2. I actually like this for the Blazers, assuming they get something good in return for Holiday. Their roster is both young and talented...should be fun to watch, anyway.

I like it too. A few thoughts.
1. Fuck Miami...their deal was dog shit and the idea we'd just have to take 10 cents on the dollar because Miami says so is idiotic. This trade is satisfying in that regard...a massive fuck you to the Heat. Their fan base has to feel gutted and at the same time the Bucks got much better.
2. I actually like the deal better for Dame too and hope he does well. I like that he didn't get what he wanted but ended up on a team that will have a very good chance at a championship.
3. Fuck dame for forcing the Grant deal to happen. I guess he's trade bait for a team contending at some point.
4. Jrue to a team like Orlando might be good. I think it was on the BS pod that they said Jrue was planning to retire at the end of this contract. If that's true might as well get off of that ASAP for whatever we can get. Just for shits and giggles we should offer Jrue to Miami for the same package they offered for Dame.
Bucks losing Holiday is a bigger deal then one might think. I don't think there is any way the Bucks are the favorites for the title. They are in the top 3, yes, but not the faves. Not 'cause of Dame.
But it sure helps.
glad we finally unloaded Dame to be honest. same with Nurk. had some good times but obviously he was not going to carry us to a championship or even to the NBA finals. before the trade demands he was already kinda starting to push the buttons of the locals with his whole I have never been to the Oregon Coast and have no real desire to go to the coast narrative. he's better off someplace like the midwest IMO
Yeah I know Dame is great, but I am not sure he is better than Jrue in the playoffs. Milwaukee is old. I still like the Celtics to win, but I am a homer. And yeah I hope Jrue doesn’t end up in Miami or Philadelphia
You think Jrue is better than Dame in the playoffs? Seriously?
No contest. Bucks just added the second most clutch shooter in the league, a phenomenal locker room guy and a crazy competitor. His defense is mediocre but he can (and does) score at will. If he and the Greek stay healthy, it's going to be a nasty show.

I'm still processing the trade but that's where I'm at. Jrue seems to be such an important piece of the Bucks' defensive scheme it feels like a a decent perimeter defender loss. But I think they still have Lopez and Giannis as rim protectors which is obviously valuable.
On the other hand, having Giannis, Dame, and Middleton on the floor at the time is quite the show. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.
Losing Jrue is big, but Dame is still a net positive over him. On paper they're a better team today.
Bucks will be better on offense and worse on defense, and will lack some depth on the roster. Hard to call them the favorites without having seen them play yet. Denver are still *clearly* the favorites because their roster only changed a little bit. Warriors could also be up there if the CP3 experiment works out, but again, until we've seen them play who the hell knows. Same deal with Phoenix.
Dame and Giannis PnR with Middleton and Lopez shooting 3s on weak side? Nightmare to defend.

Agree, that's why I said they're better on paper. With any super team, it comes down to how they play together and how much they're hurt by the inevitable lack of depth.
But on paper, they are better. A Dame/Giannis pick and roll sounds terrifying. Has the potential to be equal to Murray/Jokic.
They will be nasty on offense. Dame can do some shit on defense when needed, but Jrue is the man on D.
Where does Jrue land?
Boston? Brogdon, two 1sts, and a young guy, maybe Pritchard (would be hilarious since his family moved to FL from OR)
IND? Hield, a young guy, two 1sts
76ers? Harris, some young guy, two 1sts
Orlando?
OKC?
You crazy
Better not be Boston. I like Brogdon and Pritchard.
This. Jrue has been a liability in the playoffs. He’s a great defender but offensive liability when the playoffs come around.
Hopefully Dame can stop pouting that he didn’t end up in Miami because if he wants to win a chip this is a much better opportunity. Bucks are gonna be tough.
I find it funny how everyone is now picking the Bucks as the favorite. Awesome team but the Nuggets are still the favorites in my eyes. Nuggets are just a more complete team and already have chemistry.
I don’t think anyone wants Harden and why would you? Dude has quit on 3 teams in 4 seasons, has slowed down, and disappears in the playoffs. It sucks the sixers are stuck with him and I wouldn’t be surprised if it leads to Embiid forcing a trade down the road.
Why on earth would Boston want that guy???
That "Steph aside" part is pretty key, Dame is not your average short guard either.
Jimmy says bucks tampering....asking nba to investigate. Sour grapes.
Dame is coming off the best scoring season of his career with 32 ppg. Jrue and Dame are both 33, Jrue has been in the league longer and was openly talking about retiring after this season.
Maybe the Bucks beat the Heat last year, and go back-to-back, had Jrue not gone 1 for 2 at the free throw line with 2 seconds remaining in game 5? maybe that's a little harsh to put a 4-1 playoff series lost on one free throw miss. Either way, Dame's defense will likely look better with Brook Lopez anchoring the frontcourt and Giannis covering 3/4s of the court being the greek freak that he is.
^This
Dame has gotten better and better.

Not to make excuses for the Bucks, but Giannis was out for some of the games and was playing through injury. Additionally, Middleton was out. I think the idea is a full strength Bucks squad last year is not losing that series. I don't know if it will work but the scoring power of Giannis, Dame, and Middleton is going to be lethal. Also, Lopez might have a career year from the 3pt line. To put another way...if they're healthy going into the 1st round this season I would think they'll easily dispatch with whoever they're playing. If they're down to an injured Giannis and a hobbled Dame then yeah, they fucked.
Giannis has missed quite a few regular season and playoff games the last four years so who knows how healthy he'll be going forward.

That didn’t take long - Jrue to the Celtics for Brogdon, Williams and two 1’s. Kinda steep but interesting…
Go Kings!

I have nothing bad to say about the Blazers GM. Timelord and Brogdon get flipped and you get more picks. Damn.
