^^^^ yeow!
Somewhat related to eldo... So I always seem to be a week late learning when the road is plowed up to 4th of July. Anyone have a rule of thumb on this? Even on where to find out? That road (CR 111) doesnt show up on the USFS road status site. There is this number - 303-541-2500 - but I seem to remember that not being answered or vmails responded to. One year I called Tin Shed and they seemed confused and annoyed by the question... Appreciate any help
^^^ usually the week prior to memorial day depending on snow pack of course.
"Accessibility:
Access to the Fourth of July Trailhead is via Fourth of July Road. This road is maintained by Boulder County. There is now a seasonal gate on this road. This gate closes at the beginning of the winter season depending on weather conditions and other factors. Boulder County typically plows this road and opens the gate before Memorial Day weekend."
^^^ thx much
You gotta call them. Usually opens before Memorial day

They got some snow, last night. I can see it from my house.
Nice!
I plan to be a part of the clusterfuck again this season. No parking reservations. Part of me is psyched about that, and part of me is bummed; it was nice knowing you had a reservation. I think on weekends they are charging $10 for single occupancy vehicles?
weekends/holidays for singles...... looks like the dropped the "powder fee" parking for singles on days with +10" that was batted around last year.

Yea that dusting looked nice this morning on my run.
Got my son in eldorables for a few weeks starting in January. Sunday mornings.
Looking good coming up Hwy 52, this morning.
Hey Clusterfuckers, anyone else going to be there for the first Friday?
Have they said what they’ll have open yet?
nothing on the website yet.
My first day will probably be Sun the 28th.
Could easily be just the small mountain - haven't been a whole lot of days cold enough for snow making lately (and obviously: no significant natural).
Best case scenario: Windmill/international, scraped to the mother-lovin' bone (but I'm betting just one short lift, nothing to the top).
Enjoy the WROD! Try not to die!
Ha! Thanks for clarifying fellas.
My 6yo is jonesing to get out , but not sure it’s the best idea to take him until more is open and it spreads out a bit. Some Jolly Jug rippers do sound great!
Would like to get him on snow one way or another next week. Might burn a day at LL, all condition dependent.
I've been checking the Eldora webcams regularly for weather conditions, etc., and, on the main mountain, I would expect only Windmill/International to be open on Friday. Until the last minor snowfall, everything there was mostly brown except for the bottom of International coming into the lift area.

Alpenglow. Hornblower and Int’l.
Surprisingly good. Better than what Winter Park had going on, yesterday.
something along those lines should be their slogan:
Eldora: surprisingly good!
Eldora: better than you expect!
Eldora: it's not windy all the time!
It was windy. I didn't mention it because I thought that was a given. It was also snowing when I left.
Wasn't their tagline "Friends don't let friends drive I-70" at one time? I remember stickers saying that.
Anyway, I took the kid up for her first turns of the season and it was pretty iced over in one section. Back to shitty...
Unfortunately, another fatality at Eldora.

Ugh RIP :(
Sad. RIP. It was really icy in that narrow section of Windmill, last week.
