You might want to look around a bit more for Tahoe backcountry resources since your friend doesn't even know what Babycham is; I would suggest George Hurchalla's Backcountry Snowboarding and Skiing in the Northern Sierra.

While we're doing critiques, might I add INTO THE MIND as a recommended ski flick this year. Caught it behind California 89, projected on the wall and loved it. About as far as you can get from TGR style all-action and more focused on taking the beauty of the ski experience and amplifying it through big-time production and social effects (good use of the rotating wipe). The fake beard thing at the end goes on for longer than needed, but the rest of it had me holding my eyelids open so as not to miss an instant of the eye candy.
San Fran on Fri Nov 22nd
South Lake on Sat Nov 23rd
On another note... what's up with Sweetgrass only having one tour dates in all of CA? They have like ten dates in CO. Boo. If there is interest, maybe we'll buy the DVD and show it on the big screen here in kings beach (or maybe projected on the outside of the PM Gear factory?)
THE MODELS ARE NOW LATCHING ONTO AN INTENSE BAND OF PRECIP BEHIND THE FRONT. THEY HAVE IT DEVELOPING AROUND SUSANVILLE-GERLACH AROUND MIDNIGHT AND MOVING SOUTH THROUGH MARKLEEVILLE AND MINDEN TOMORROW MORNING. THE FORCING LOOKS IMPRESSIVE WITH A FAVORABLE JET POSITION. WILL NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES YET, BUT WILL LIKELY BE INCREASING CHANCE FOR PRECIP AND PRECIP AMOUNTS LATER TODAY FOR THE OVERNIGHT PERIOD.
Sweet.
Washing the car tomorrow.

Will this hold until the next system? Read that it's supposed to be a warm end of the week and then possibly some more this weekend?
Some of it should. If we're talking inbounds, look at the overnight lows for the next week. Cold enough for the guns to blow. This'll provide a good base for white ribbons of death, at least.
Alright who went out and clipped rocks today? I am stuck in NYC till tomorrow so I need you guys to find all the rocks for me so I can get in some nice smooth turns tomorrow
Just saw a couple skiers putting on gear on the Sugarbowl cam. I'd rather be out there hitting rocks than sitting in this damn cubicle.
that online guide seems adequate enough. be thankful he doesnt mention some of the lesser known nooks n crannies. and babycham is a name given by that hurchalla guy and i personally think is kinda a dumb name. i prefer the pre-guidebook name of closet chute but everyone knows it as babycham now so i am forced to assimilate
sooooo who went skiing today??? did sugar bowl really get over a foot????
you can trust the hurchalla guy. he and i were in high school together back in stuart, fl
going tomorrow, shin willing.
Ya I usually call it Closet Chute, but that was somewhat irrelevant to my point. David is actually a good guy and he did take down the Babycham mistake. I found it funny that Babycham was on its way to renaming two parts of Tallac. Unfortunately I didn't realize how hard Hurchalla's book is to find these days.
I have the disc if you ever want to borrow it
trust a guy from florida????
yeah right
i thought i trusted you till you said you were from flaaaaaaaarida. heheheh

Way to go, Joey!
103 mph gust up there last night. Did it stack up on east aspects?
any more snow up north?? seems we just got some freezing rain at 6.5k down south
was hoping to find some inspiration here to ski today
Yeah, let's get some pics going! We want to get some evidence of October shredding up on the homepage, and would love to get some stoke up there from the Tahoe mags.

Looks like Jeremy Jones got the family quiver out for a golf course session at least...
i actually slept down the street from there yesterday night and was completely uninspired driving by the bottom of stagecoach early am. seemed to be more snow in meyers. i m sure up top was better but sugar bowl sounds like the spot. prolly let it settle out another day and get more reports from today. deep but punchy i heard yesterday

PD, better start using the #skieverydamnday hash tag. ;)
this is true, but i did climb today. those pics were taken from a lift tower, and then i went up to the climbing gym afterward.
the shin did ok in the pow, but on the skin track and then road on the way out. owie! there seems to be a bone chip floating around in there.
That was the only turn I actually hit bottom on. Kind of knew it was going to happen though.

Nice!!!!!
good to see nacho back at it
So jealous. Driving through 50 tomorrow. Did the management give you any hassles about uphill hiking or did you just get hoots from the construction crew?
We parked past all the construction folk. Saw one truck coming down on the way up. Two people got to the top of west bowl when we were leaving and three boarders were heading up with shovels as we were driving away.
finally after 10 pages in we get to see some skiing from the 13-14 season. attaboys all around!!!!!
