You might want to look around a bit more for Tahoe backcountry resources since your friend doesn't even know what Babycham is; I would suggest George Hurchalla's Backcountry Snowboarding and Skiing in the Northern Sierra.Quote:

that online guide seems adequate enough. be thankful he doesnt mention some of the lesser known nooks n crannies. and babycham is a name given by that hurchalla guy and i personally think is kinda a dumb name. i prefer the pre-guidebook name of closet chute but everyone knows it as babycham now so i am forced to assimilate

Ya I usually call it Closet Chute, but that was somewhat irrelevant to my point. David is actually a good guy and he did take down the Babycham mistake. I found it funny that Babycham was on its way to renaming two parts of Tallac. Unfortunately I didn't realize how hard Hurchalla's book is to find these days.

this is true, but i did climb today. those pics were taken from a lift tower, and then i went up to the climbing gym afterward.
the shin did ok in the pow, but on the skin track and then road on the way out. owie! there seems to be a bone chip floating around in there.
That was the only turn I actually hit bottom on. Kind of knew it was going to happen though.

So jealous. Driving through 50 tomorrow. Did the management give you any hassles about uphill hiking or did you just get hoots from the construction crew?
We parked past all the construction folk. Saw one truck coming down on the way up. Two people got to the top of west bowl when we were leaving and three boarders were heading up with shovels as we were driving away.
finally after 10 pages in we get to see some skiing from the 13-14 season. attaboys all around!!!!!
