Re: BOA
My BOA has been problem free for 3+ years now….
Just saying.

Yeah, I don't get the fear/hate. My BOA bike shoes are incredible and I can't imagine going back to buckles. BOA ski boots have also been great for me (F1 and RS, GF uses Travers). The performance is much better than buckles.
BOA warranty is as good as it gets, and you can carry a spare cable if you're worried--it will be smaller and lighter than a spare buckle.
Krypton and Lupo are now Cabrio and Cabrio Free. There is no low volume and medium volume, just 99mm. Tongue is not removable. Grip walk soles. No tech insert on cabrio (Dalbello just did that to get grip walk on the lupo for no additional cost in its last year).
X3. Don’t get the BOA hate.

From Evo:
Salomon QST Echo
"We’re deeming 2024 the year of the Cody for Salomon. Salomon introduces the QST Echo, or as 50 Project followers have affectionately been referring to it “The Cody Ski.” The Echo is everything you love about the QST in a lightweight, touring-specific construction. And yes, Cody Townsend helped bring it to life. Featuring a lively karuba and poplar wood core, cork damplifiers at the tip and tail and basalt fibers throughout the ski provide a stable ride that slays the downhill but still cuts critical weight. The Echo is 106 mm underfoot, mirroring the versatility of the QST and Stella 106. Ski it in a few inches of fresh or strap it to your bag and head up a spring bootpack. Even better, the Echo debuts with a flushed out, unisex size range that everyone can enjoy. The QST Echo is available in sizes from 157 cm up to 189 cm."
Should be interesting!

Yeah way to de-evolve a boot. Dalbello guys are clowns for making the tounges non removable. Bummer.
When you put it like that it’s kind of obviously a good idea. I’d never consider a bike shoe without boa. It fits so much better. Funny how initial reactions can be with something as love/hate as ski boots.
Now that I know the adjustment piece stays on the cable in a crash (when I first heard I stupidly thought it would break off freely and get lost), I’m looking forward to trying it out.
^ pretty sure that is not my quote btw.
I don’t get this at all, how does this boot not walk like absolute shit? Do they have something up their sleeve?
I’m be come to fucking hate my alpinist brakes. How the hell does anyone get them to work in the actual world. I see they have changed how they retract in skin mode..wonder if I can “warranty” because of how shitty they work.

Alright, who's got the skinny on the Lange Shadow boot? Dual rear attachment points for a "kinetic???" spine - elastomer flex adjustment.....Mo info needed
Hey wait, wasn’t Salomon supposed to bring back rear entry boots for the masses a few years ago? Was that with the rollout of the bbq ski or whatever it was called? I may have slept through the past five years though but folks are still griping about boa so who knows
