This is where the cabin/camp will be. Best spot that meets setback requirements. Conveniently this spot will have the best lake views once I get the land cleared.

^ This × 10. If you know what you are going to build, you will want to bring as many of the building supplies as possible (wood, roofing, concrete mix, etc.) Over in the Winter.
One load up and one unload feels 10 x easier than the extra unload and load into a pontoon boat. Not to mention you can likely unload the supplies right onto your build site during the winter.
I'm sure you know how it works if you are from that area.
Now, an important question. What kind of fish are in the lake? I assume Bass, Northerns and maybe Walleyes?

I commented too soon. I see you are on top of the ice road!

Here to post in this epic thread. I am holding out for a psychedelic planet myself, but this is awesomesauce.
Psychedelic use is encouraged on my island.

Hell yeah, you and your family will always be welcome. Be great to see you again.
I’m probably 200 miles north of I-90 though.

Little island has some elevation to it, that's gonna be a sweet view.
Yeah I was just posting a cabin I like - that's all.
I've been to Northern Wisconsin in the winter. Lived near there for awhile.
I'm as familiar with winter weather as you are.
Sunrise this morning from my Mom’s condo on one of the other connected lakes. Note empty boat lifts, low temps forecasted to be 19F for the next 5 days. My boat is one of the few still in the water. I’m pulling my boat out and putting it on the trailer today. I can still launch it for day use to visit my island, but don’t want to risk leaving it in overnight.

Game camera caught this doe at 2am. Proof that deer can swim.
Cool technology, snaps the pic and sends me a text.

Can't wait for game pics of Sasquatch.
What about becoming the Walter White of Wisconsin? ROI, baby!
My grandparents had a waterfront property on one of the islands out here on the west coast, so they also owned a tiny island just off their beach. There were feral sheep that would wade out to the island at low tide to graze on the grass. Since they aren't too bright, they wouldn't notice the tide coming back in and would regularly get stuck out there until the next low tide.
Anyone who tells you to count sheep to get to sleep has never listened to them baa-ing all night long from their island prison.
Here is this morning’s sunrise.
