wouldn’t have happened in a sports tube. Maybe you don’t understand how hard the plastic is. This isn’t some soft sided bag. It’s. Solid tube of thermo formed plastic. You could drag the case down the fucking runway and it wouldn’t wear through. Only thing destroying the tube is either the tug or plane running it over.Quote:

Roller bags don’t seem to get opened as much….and if they do/ they don’t screw everything all up like they did w/ our SportTubes…but you are correct, the SportTube does protect better from the luggage/cargo guys.

I'm sure it's not as great of quality as the best ones out there, but just picked up one of these and quite impressed for the price. Especially, when they put them on sale for $63 CAD.

Fairly well padded, adjustable length, and the wheels seem pretty solid. Can fit in 3 pair of skis, or 2 alpine and 2 xc skis. For this trip, I was able to fit 2 pair if skis, all my ski clothing, avy gear and glacier kit including ice axe.
We'll see how long it lasts, but it seems solid, and for the price, it's replaceable fairly often.

I have an older but barely used Douchebags roller that’s pretty sick. Also always good for a laugh at check-in. No idea what it cost because it was a gift but it’s definitely a well made product.
I’d definitely sell if someone is interested- if I can’t catch fish with it or ski away in it I don’t want it.

Have been getting this question often from friends. I'm still using my PM Gear Double Trouble/AJ Kitt bag circa early 2000s?!?! Crazy it's been that long and still in good shape. The only downside is the weight of the PM Gear bag at ~12lbs empty. Worth picking up one of those $100 sierra double soft sided sport-tubes? Max ski length is 185 for me these days so no need for the extra length. Durable enough? Have been recommending the Dakine roller double which I'd read good things about here, but never actually used.
Any comparisons to my ancient PM bag vs these options?

The reason I like the Dakine Fall Line double vs the more burly older Concourse Double (I owned both) is it's significantly lighter. Sure it's less.protextove ,but I fill my bag with fleeces and crap so I haven't had ang issues , and I can get more crap in there bc I'm saving weight on the bag itself. Bags have held up well through multiple flights every year. They also fold up easily in hotel rooms.Quote:

It’s possible, but it’s tight and depends on the size of the skis. I was just barely able to fit my wife’s 154cm/85mm and my 184/106’s, but I might have a hard time getting two of my skis to Tetris in there.Quote:
