My uncle was a judge and was able it piggyback on the cops cruiser buy and bought my aunt a police interceptor edition. It was ugly but a badass performer.

My first car was this exact model. '76 Mercury Grand Marquis. My parents bought it for me for $300 or $500 in '95. It would burn thru a quart of oil every 100 or so miles so I had a case of oil in the trunk at all times. It was massive. I think one of the longest production cars ever.
Once I somehow locked the keys in it while it was still running at school and it ran half the day before I could get a ride home to get a spare key.
There was also a family of weird chipmunk like rodents living in it.
The first car I owned was a 1985 Ford Tempo in this ugly matte baby blue:

I cannot, however call it the worst car. I bought it for $500 and drove it all over North Carolina for 2yrs until it broke down on the side of the road...I left it there and walked home. It was worth at least the $500 I paid for it!
Trabant 601 #1, followed closely by AMC Pacer

I don't think this is the worst car ever, but it is definitely the worst car I personally owned. My first car -- a hand-me-down -- a 1980 VW Dasher. Looked exactly like this, but blue.

Tan vinyl interior, no A/C. 3-speed automatic, gutless 4-cyl engine = going to Tahoe on I-80 from the bay area was a 40-mph ordeal. Overheated frequently. Had some sort of electrical drain that I never could find, so I disconnected the battery when I left it parked for awhile. OTOH, it didn't get stolen while living in Oakland/ Berkeley, so there's that.
What?
Worst car?
Fuck off.
Also HIGHLY unlikely it wasn't an Audi Sport Quattro.
Since those were limited production specials for Homologation in group B rallying.
And if it was he should have kept it... highly collectible now. $$$.
My wife's uncle was an LAPD Sergeant and for years was an instructor at the Emergency Vehicle Training Unit (EVOC) unit.
I spent a couple of days there with him on one trip to LA. got to thrash around a bunch of their Crown Vics on the various tracks and skidpans.
They are not ..."badass performers"
You're right. I'm not thinking about it in the proper context.

Well famed automotive journalist Ro McGonegal seems to like that Chevette judging by the review. "51 of the quickest diesel ponies you'll ever feel"' says our man Ro. Ro actually went on to work at Hot Rod Magazine and Motor Trend, a google search reveals, so he must know what's up, right?
Say it with a gif.
