There was some cool light this weekend through the backlit altocumulus this weekend. Terrible snow on some aspects though.

Anyone been up near pemberton recently?
looks like some more normal pnw weather patterns are setting in. might have to buy a lift ticket friday
Nice photos, clam-man!
^^^ listen to this man. Nobody go to Baker on Friday. Stay home.
That for sure!
Does Pendelton NWS provide a decent forecast for you guys? Does the warming and snot snow events predicted for the end of the week look reliable?
With 0 to 20" on the ground in Tahoe, I'm contemplating a weekend trip to Alpy or Stevens ... but maybe I should save my airline miles if it's gonna rain to 5000 feet.
Thanks for the info ... good thing I haven't sent the bike suspension out for rework yet I guess :tdo13:
I'm going to Montana. Wa is spent
Man, I never thought early season snow at Baker would be such a gamble. Flew in, been skiing here Sat, Sun, Mon... then had to take today off, since this is just some pathetic bullshit snow. And the worst part? The ice coast is getting dumped, and Baker right now skis like what our dinky hills look the rest of the time. Last day of skiing tomorrow, and the best I can hope is for a tiny bit of thaw so that the icy death cookies stop popping up into my kneecaps. My one west-coast ski trip this year gone to crap. Well, at least a pink sunset on Shuksan yesterday was better than anything I can see from Jay Peak.
Forecast upgrading, here at least. Yay!
Go Z-bo, go! :fmicon: :yourock:
Snowing (and raining) outside of my office.
Looks like I picked the right year to kick it in the BC interior.
Sorry but you're obviously not very familiar with early December PNW weather. Hint, it frequently doesn't look like Mt. Baker shots in Powder Magazine. Pre-Christmas skiing here sucks about 60% of the time and traveling for it is a huge gamble.Quote:

Booking travel in advance for pre-Christmas skiing is a gamble anywhere in the lower 48
headed to baker tomorrow and friday. probably buy a ticket one of those days depending on snowfall. forecast downgraded a bit but hoping it stays cold over the weekend.
WA Mags! Heading to Olympia for the holidays. I'd like to head to Crystal on Monday since I've never been. Anyone planning on skiing mid-week there? I'd love to get the tour from a local. PM me if you're around.
Huck for Bucks. Check the snow levels before you head up Monday unless you like skiing in the rain(forecasted to get warmer). Tuesday and Wednesday look like really nice weather but I wouldn't count on much powder unless the snow level stays below 5500. Stick to the Green Valley chair if you cherish your bases. Really low snowpack this year. I may be up there on Xmas day but will have the extended family in tow. We may go to Stevens though depending on what happens the next few days.
