Thanks Dan
Slow process is disappointing, but I am moving forward not backwards which is good.

How many months--please translate into English from [TRG]Pretty standard. Doesn't affect what you do next. I don't recall if this was your first DVT--if so I would treat arbitrary length of time, whatever your doc says.
Answering old goats questions:
My first DVT.
(Three point five) months from initial ultrasound and diagnosis, but symptoms for a week or so prior to that.
Doc is straightforward, telling me that this not uncommon, while also telling me about potential damage to valves inside the veins the longer it takes. He says continue anticoagulant for another (ninety) days and reevaluate.
I am staying active, going to the gym (four-five) days a week, working on the island most days, hiking various sections of the Ice Age Trail (trailhead under (ten) miles away) Knee surgery this winter was a total success and I am confident that I will be skiing this winter. Doc said he likes to hear that, says so many patients get depressed and give up. Not me.
