MTPOW I am very interested in a Pivot jig. Please keep us posted.
I am heading down to Ghee/JH to chase this next cycle. Chances are it actually nukes deep everywhere on BS while we're gone.
Bad year for "lift incidents" https://x.com/redlodgemntn/status/1899477021299724787
What happened?

Some googling indicates that a guy was essentially blown off the chair. Chair didn't have any sort of safety bar. Winds gusting above 60mph.

Sounds like a head injury. Vibes to all involved.

Holy shit that is fucking scary. Vibes. As a young punk and/or drunken skier I always thought I was too cool for the bar. Kinda like skiing without a helmet. Then I became an adult and I like being alive and could care less about if putting the bar down is uncool. Especially on the new high speed direct drive space bubbles which stop on a fucking dime and basically eject you off the chair when they e-stop.
Now chair without a bar? I'm gonna have a death grip with an arm over the seat back if there is any gusty wind.
That sucks for that dude. We can speculate all the want, but the right 60mph gust and maybe any one of us could have gotten blown from the chair.
RIP! He passed away. 37 years old
No kidding about the bar. Swifty is absolutely scary sometimes the way you sit upright and the consequences if you would fall. Not to mention the shift during a sudden stop.
The Yellowstone County Coroner's Office identified the man as 37-year-old Jeffrey Neil Zinne. The coroner's office said the cause of death was accidental blunt force injury and he was pronounced dead at 1:16 a.m. Wednesday.

Wow - that is sad AF. I've riden that chair a gazillion times and was shocked that they upgraded the Miami Beach chair which literally serves 1 run vs the Triple Chair which is the main bloodline to the entire mountain. It's old, slow, unsafe, and about 3/4ths of the way up it stays and bounces when the wind is whipping over Cole Creek. Absolutely horrible
Vibes for the guy’s family.

I can't seem to send private messages. Hit me up if you want a jig. I'll cut you a local deal.
And anyone else with a montana ship to!
Waiting patiently for the snowstorm. [emoji1696] Yesterday in the Swifty line a woman asked ski patrol how to find the "hut just off Lobo" where she was supposed to meet her friends. She seemed a little miffed when the patroller declined to offer her directions to the smoke shack.

Well, he was probably sporting a fluorescent green cross so I can understand her asking.
There are at least three huts off of Lobo so the patroller may not have wanted to lead the woman astray. The shack picture Yeahman shared is what I know as "Drive Through" and down hill and east is "Tee Box" and there is another shack on the West side of Lobo that connects to Soul Hole on the exit.
I am looking forward to the new flourescent orange crosses for patrol and assume patrollers must be tiring of the dispensary jokes.
Ski patrol is going downhill. Bunion probably would have turned that encounter into a hot date in the old days!

What in the wild world of sports is he a buildin there?
^^^Starting on the pond a little early?
Big Sky firing. Let’s roll.
Leaving at 7:15 with ski gear but going to the medical center for an MRI. Ortho wants C-spine imaging for a possible pinched nerve. Sound familiar?
Swimmy's back!

We fell for the classic blunder! Every european and american weather model was calling for BS to get like 2" and Ghee to get a good hit......and BS get's a foot?! Enjoy! I think Ghee will be good today too.

Bunion, same here. When I extend my neck back and to the left my left hand goes numb immediately. I love getting old.
Dang, sounds like numb arm is common. My Dr referred me to a pain specialist today. Oh well, hard to pass up a shit ton of dust on crust. https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img924/9273/FR04iH.jpghttps://imagizer.imageshack.com/img923/4130/boYRV8.jpghttps://imagizer.imageshack.com/img924/6780/Vr17Ng.jpghttps://imagizer.imageshack.com/img924/1523/OU6EYR.jpghttps://imagizer.imageshack.com/img922/4757/TlAU0d.jpghttps://imagizer.imageshack.com/img924/5056/2QIWh4.jpg

Nice dudes. Looks deep! Bridger wasn’t that deep but it was a heathen pow fest up on Saddle. High speed big mtn shredding. My favorite kind of skiing. It was pretty much skied wall to wall by the end of the day.

Great skiing with you today swimmy! Awesome pics. The reef was lurking but it was surprisingly deep up there. Here's one of you.

Those views never grow old.
Have one last day at Bridger I'm trying to use up, is the reef reasonably covered with the last dusting? Might head down for a bit Sunday with my kid.
Nice pics!
Yeah, been there. Have a plate, four screws and a cadaver bone shim holding c6-7 together.Quote:

As surgeries go, it isn’t bad at all. They go in thru the front so very little tissue damage. I was back on my MTB 3 weeks after getting cut.
Good luck.
I only did one run inbounds Trackhead. North facing was good. The rest might be a bit suspect.

Thx^^^ will wait for a warm sunny day in spring
Snowbowl must have pissed off every last customer within a 100 mile radius? That was one of the most pleasant Saturdays I’ve had skiing all year. The new Transporter lift is fucking awesome and steeeeeep! Skiing untracked pow lines down the bowls at 4pm is pretty enjoyable too.

Thanks TBS, RE: Neck, mainly wanted the MRI to rule out deeper issues (Tumor or other growth just below my right jawline), hoping that steroid injection/PT/Dry needling will be the ticket but I ain't the doctor. Had a fun time at the Dirtbag 8s yesterday, real good turnout, saw a lot of the old timers and a healthy mix of the new wave of Big Sky skiers and riders as well as the kids of the former dirtbags who now take part and ski very well. good conditions in Crons, sunny with snow showers, good vis and near the end it got colder and snowy as it should. . On the drive home @ 4:20 we got within 2 miles of my truck near MM 64, bad wreck closed the canyon at 62 (no fatalities except for snowmobiles), road stayed closed, we backtracked to Big Sky and had dinner at the the Riverhouse. Road re-opened around 6:15. Riverhouse fried chicken is a delight.
Shredeagle awesome pics! Snowbowl is super fun and the Transporter lift is a great addition. I hope to get over there again before the season ends.
Bunion wish I coulda been there for the powder eights. Bunch of people were in town this week to spread Terry's ashes on the peak. And yeah the Riverhouse chicken dinner is for sure the best dinner deal left in American ski towns. Spent $12.28 for dinner and a beer a few weeks ago, plus tip.
I am so glad that Terry received the love he deserved. I was not aware of his passing until yesterday. Mutual friends told me of the services/spreading of his ashes. Kudos to the patrol and the people that made that happen. Every ski town should have its characters and Terry was certainly one of them. RIP.
Unexpectedly awesome powder day at Great Divide.

Huh, did not know about Terry’s passing, just now googled it. RIP to a guy who made my life fun.
Just a week or so ago I was going through some old stuff and found one of his CD’s, the one with “Swifty Dance” (to the tune of Safety Dance). I used to love coming into Scissorbills after a long day and hearing him play.
