The tires on myGF stock Kona honzo she bought used appear to be glued on? They have tubes and are flat so I thought we would convert to tubeless.
The tires are totally glued to the rim. I can't get a tire lever or anything in there.
I'm no expert but I have changed a bazillion bike tires and some are difficult but this is different. I can't even get started.
I did an internet search and couldn't find anything. I might try soaking in water.
It's so strange because they definitely have tubes based on the valves.
Any tips appreciated, thanks.

There have been some good discussions previously on the Hayes, it seems like overall most people love them. When mine are working well they are incredible. I am not the only one though who found that the pistons often need cleaned and exercised, and as the pads wear the lever throw can get long even if you have what seemed like a perfect bleed. All can be overcome, but they are not 2 second set ups with no shenanigans like some xts or code rscs, that being said the performance is notably better.

Love mine. Put them on the big bike a little over a year ago. Put a set on the wife's bike, and recently put another set on my trail bike. No issues whatsoever with any of my 3 sets. Haven't bled any of them after initial installation. No issues with sticky pistons.

More power and better lever feel than my previous maguras (mt7). Significantly better than codes in all respects.

Yah….. I’m sold. Just have to find a pair that aren’t super expensive. Getting the Magura at pro deal is a huge win. But man those Dominions are just sexy I think.

@Sandbox I've got a used set of Dominion A4s (black, regular lever) sitting on my bench that I was saving to put on my kid's bike if/when he expresses interest in riding, but that could be years, so I'd be open to selling them. I forget what used pads are in them, but I've also got 3 sets of brand new Galfer Purple pads to go with them. Ti bolts, spare olive/barbs. I've got a Hayes bleed kit also. LMK if you're interested - haven't been actively trying to sell so I don't have any photos handy (not that I could post them to this POS forum). I forget what I sold my other set to Toast for, probably $250-275ish.

No first hand but a buddy I respect loves his.
Have not heard any negatives.

I bought dominion A2 brakes for my XC race bike and I have been impressed. The clearance is a little tighter than a SRAM or Shimano Brake so bent rotors matter a little more.

Currently $75 per wheel which is an incredible deal. For XC bikes this feels like great fit or a trail bike for medium sized riders. For a trail bike I would do a 200mm rotor but 180/160 has worked great on for me at 170lbs.

My Dominions are on their way to Sandbox. I'm happy to see them going to a good home (as opposed to sitting in a pile of parts on my bench).

I may have done a bad thing. My Oneup V2 post unthreaded its mid cap and in a fit of malign neglect I continued to ride it, as it had finally stopped sticking in this state of partial disassembly. Of course it then filled with mud and one of the guide pins attempted to escape, becoming logged between the dropper and the case. I now have a nice long gouge as well as some light sanding of the anodized finish. There's a rebuild kit sitting on my bench. Do I even bother?

^^^ aside from looking worn, I don't think that's gonna make a huge difference in the functionality of the post. I'd lightly sand down any protruding burrs and run it. Obviously dirt will be able to get inside more easily, so just make more of an effort to wipe the post off periodically. If the gouge is really deep, you could try filling it with superglue and then sanding smooth.

I've got worse in one of my droppers. If you're worried, clean it, smooth it with ultra fine sandpaper, give a thin coat of nail polish, then one more pass of ultra fine sandpaper. I bought a fancy gouge filling kit from France that did all that, but there really was nothing special in it that I can tell.

well what is inside the post is it actualy doing anything hydralic ? my cheaper than dirt SDG tellis has a cartrige and shim kit so easy it could probably be rebuilt by a monkey and marks like that would not matter

Yea, that post is fine. This isn't like an open bath fork, where imperfections in the tubes will cause all the important oil to hemorrhage out. The actual cartridge is another layer of the onion inside of that. Only thing you'll do is cause a bit more friction as you slowly exchange slick honey for dust. Just service it more often if it worries you.
That said, isn't the whole point of One Up posts that they're cheap enough to treat them like disposable goods? I mean, surely every SRAM component on your bike is more expensive than that dropper.

Bonus round question: Does anybody have a favorite brand for screw extractors or L-twist drill bits? I have just the tip of my smallest Torx driver stuck in one of my Dominion's bleed ports. Thing is tinnnny.

Just the tip?

I'd use a small pick, try to get the remnants out of the torx hole. A screw extractor sounds like a recipe for destroying the caliper.

This is a Tool Talk question. But I'll answer here. I prefer the Rennsteig screw extractors. This style has a fluted design that is far superior to the cheap spiral easy outs from Home Depot (although you can order Rennsteig though Home Depot now, Home Depot is going the model Amazon route and being able to order quality brands through them directly though the supplier)
BUT nothing beats a good set of Left Hand drill bits. That is my first go to to remove anything stuck/stripped in threads. A solid center punch mark if needed, and the appropriate sized left hand drill bit. The second the drill bit bites into the metal, the lefthand spinning unthreads the bolt.
These are not expensive or need to be, as long as they are Hight Speed Steel (HSS):
Duralast 5 pc set from AutoZone $12.
Irwin 5 pc set form Ace Hardware $28
Habour Freight 13pc Warrior bits $16.
The first time you remove a bolt with a left handed drill bit, you'll wonder why you've ever tried any other tool.
