44" in Ludlow is insane. Wonder how much they got at my parents' old place on Terrible Mountain. Damn glad my 85+ parents sold the place last year.

So much for limiting ticket sales. My son is over at Sunapee. Third lot is full. Two trails open, with two more scheduled for this morning. Shit show.

Looking forward to the Magic documentation!
Good cripes.

Longs lines for a couple runs! Was at Berkshire East yesterday and no lines but did have some people who seemed to be too cool for masks.
This was the line at Mount Snow to pick up tickets at 10 am (when we noped-out). The red building is NOT the ticket window.

Apparently no one works any more or goes to school. Good thing skiing is a dying sport.
If anyone's looking at the long range forecast, it looks like we're shaping up for the classic VT Christmas thaw followed by single digit temps to turn the mountains into blocks of ice. Enjoy the conditions while they last!
Christmas eve torch forecasted.

Don’t shoot the messenger.
:fuckyou:
;)
Hear That
Hoping Jay avoids the torch. Way too far out to worry. I was worried about this dump bringing WAY too many people out to resorts creating a Covid catastrophe and, as a result, risk to ongoing VT resort operations. Those line pics aren’t calming my nerves. I realize outdoor risk is low but tons of people on limited terrain is no good.
Who had thunderstorms on Christmas Day on their 2020 bingo cards?
That's the Magic! ^^^
Woot! Sweet light in the spray.
Pretty cool pic with the light at the crest!
Hope you southerners got out and made it through the lines to the insane amount of fresh snow! Hardly anyone at the bush. Thought about doing some laps at north since elbow was in the sun but 3rd lot parking at 9am sent me south to ski in the flat light and no lines. Whopping 4" of new meant the ground wasn't bare under the lift but didn't help the actual ski conditions. Still early season man made with the occasional "oh shit" tractor ice spot. Attachment 353625
This is pretty awesome.

American Tara Geraghty-Moats won the first women’s Nordic combined World Cup event, the first time women have competed on the top international level in the only sport left at the Olympics without female representation.
“It’s an actual dream come true, and it’s the most amazing feeling ever,” Geraghty-Moats said. “It was something I’ve dreamed about since I was 10 years old – before it was even a possibility.”
Geraghty-Moats, 27, prevailed by 1.5 seconds over Norwegian Gyda Westvold Hansen, who had a 39-second advantage over the American going into the cross-country 5km after scoring the highest in the ski jump.
Just saw this pic online. Mt Slow

we got completely hammered in the flatlands.
3.5hours of shovelling later skinning platts no longer a good option, scored a ticket for hunter and met up with scottski for a few runs. long crowds for the summit, but take a second lift to get there and there were no lines and some really good snow.
especially surprising to find fresh turns late in the afternoon.
I'll join the fun Hunter today. It was actually sort of worth the half hour wait. Nice snow. But, Jesus, Vail sucks. God, they suck. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...c95cd0d55b.jpg
