Guess I should start by giving props to the near unanimous AL Cy Young Award winner Corey Kluber. Congrats on #2 Klubot.
Not bad having fellow Tribe hurler Carlos Carrasco finish 4th in the Cy Young race, Yes-way-Jose Ramirez finish 3rd in the MVP vote in an extremely close race for 2nd.
HOF nominees announced today and (in my opinion) the greatest defensive SS of all time, Omar Vizquel is on the ballot for the first time alongside fellow teammate, and 500 HR hitter, Jim Thome-run.
84 days till pitchers and catchers report.
It'll be interesting to see if either Vizquel or Thome gain traction with HOF voters. They both played a long time, which voters love, but Vizquel probably doesn't belong because he couldn't hit for shit even though he had a good glove. Thome probably has the numbers, but the HOF voters can't seem to stomach voting for a DH.Quote:

Thome is another one. 600+ HR and another very long career. Was never suspected of doping either which may be something the voters would like to use as a statement to the Bonds and Sosa’s of the era.
Chipper is a no-doubter first ballot inductee. I must have been blinded by my dislike of him back then but when I saw those stats yesterday I was blown away.

vizquel and his 28 dWar is almost as impressive as his longevity. but his best season is only 6 war and he had a couple of fours. gold gloves are useless over that time period and the guy was never the best at his position. i think he’s a notable player within the hall of very good but that’s it.
