Gotta love winter projects! Next up is some paint, taking care of that in January.
Nice Hypermotard! What are you doing to it?
Thanks Dirt, right now the Quat-D exbox exhaust (in pic), HID headlight, Ducati Perf. Cams/ECU, Desmo Challenge Tail (mocked up in pic below), and drilled air box. When I get some more cheddar im gonna do rearsets, and the Cycleworks 6 gallon tank. I also ditched the handguards for a regular set of mirrors and signals. Haven't bought those yet though. I've got a buddy that builds hot rods for a living and he's helping me paint it this winter. Gunmetal metallic on the bodywork and the subframe will be painted to match the main frame.
My goal is to make it look like an engine with two wheels and a set of bars attached to it. I like the minimalist look.

Nice Duc....pulled the battery out of my Street Glide and got it all covered for winter...hopefully be able to start riding again in March.
Nice bike man. I want an exbox for my monster so bad...
Finished rebuilding/restoring the XR6 last week. Finally feel like it's breaking in nice despite freezing my nuts off on break in rides.

In Oct, I took 4 weeks and rode my V-strom from Jackson through much of the west, visiting friends, hiking, climbing, camping, and having lots of great and miserable times.
I just finished updating a blog chronicling my trip. Probably the most interesting post for the TGR reader is
http://wheresder.blogspot.com/2009_10_22_archive.html
where you'll find some pretty pictures of southern Utah, me dropping my bike in sand and snow, stream crossings, and other randomness.
If you're interested in reading about other days including Mt. Borah in Idaho, Mt. Whitney, snowstorms, volcanos of the northwest, the Pacific coast and lots of other stuff, you can visit the blog index:

As exhausting and uncomfortable as these trips can get, it only takes a couple of days of "comfort living" before you're jonesing to hop on the bike again and discover something new. Many of you know exactly what I'm talking about.
^^^Nice. Rick Wyatt (Exum guide you ran in to) is my neighbor. I always see him chugging around on his KLR with his kids.
Enduro lust.....Ohlins suspension....
My old 2007 just doesn't measure up...
Gotta buy more lotto tickets...gotta buy more lotto tickets...

PM me for details, in SLC area.
Edit: Hate to say it, but it is gone, sold, empty garage syndrome in effect.
Yes sirrrreeeeeee bob.
1998 Honda Shadow ACE 1100 with only 3805 original miles.
Dad garage parked it for several years and for the last few I just have not ridden it, hard to do with now a 5 year old.
Sucker is in damn near mint condition. I hate to give it up, but back issues prevent me from riding too far and maybe it is just time to get it to someone who will actually put miles on it.
Any mags wanna go riding with me and my bros?;)

yo trackhead, i wouldn't mind taking you up on that...we ride a ton back here inthe east...Heading down to costarica next week for a dirbike and surfing tour...New KTM 450's, but to answer your main question, i am thinking of heading out west this summer with a trailer full of shit...KTM450, bmw800 and maybe 900rr to explore around. My buddies would be flying out to meet me since i am hauling all the bikes....would be more than intersted in you showing us around...All very good riders, we all race enduro's and to have someone show us the goods would just be off the hook.....let me know ho0w you feel about it....julyish for a couple of weeks..thanks
Went out into the shop last night to check on my bike ('66 BSA Lightning). After almost a month of continuous snow (and no riding) she's gonna be grumpy (and probably wet-sumped), but it's about time to get back on the road. Gonna have to shovel out a path on the lower driveway.....
At the Leesburg, VA Brit Bike show last summer:
Did you watch the vid I posted? Ha! Not my work, but funny as hell.
Yeah, that would be fun. There's quite a bit of good single track 20 min from SLC that is usually good to go by July. If it's not too hot, the San Rafael is close too, that place is a gold mine for fast desert riding.
Get in touch prior to your trip.

I'll be rallying this thing around a MX and GP course this weekend.
Looking to do a few more treks like Trackheads, but I'm not street legal.
Just spent four days in the desert riding with a KTM 530XCW, XR600R, KTM 950SE, TTR225, CRF250x, and three XR650R's. All bikes represented, everyone stuck together and proved it's the rider, not the bike that matters. Great times!
I have bought four dirt bikes in less than a year and now I'm buying my tweaker bike, a used XR650R that I'm going to put a 6.6 gallon tank on and a super tweaker 4 gallon seat tank so I can have a 400 mile range. Then add some HID lights and disappear into the desert.
Here are some photos from the desert trip.

Just picked this up for 1200 bucks. 2004 KDX200. Should be a great first trailbike once i change the fluids, rear sprocket (has a pizza plate on there right now) and fiddle w/ the carb a little for altitude. Came w/ a pro circuit platinum 2 pipe/ spark arrestor, but I want to learn to ride it stock first. Pretty stoked...

Killer bike, great deal. You're gonna be stoked.
shit, now tgr is going to be even more of a time suck. i got a 1964 vespa vbb. only a 150 but this thing rocks brooklyn and nyc and there is a whole scooter scene here. but i am in the market for a mid-1970's honda 400f supersport if you are looking to get rid of one- extra points for yellow. face the facts- nothing says pure motorcycle more than the 400f....
