I warranties a few Fillmore valves, I commented to Santa Cruz that if they made a brass version, it would be the best version.

Very nice!!!
Got the new Vivid air for my SB160 as the X2 was bound to blow up sometime. Its quite a nice shock and very easy to set up.
Got my sag right quickly due to the sag markings. Set my rebound to what felt about right in the parking lot and didnt touch the dials for HSC and LSC and it rode really well.
Only gripe is that you cant access the HSC adjustment on the SB160 frame without taking the front shock bolts off. Good thing I didn't need to adjust.
Lake Owyhee?
My X2 isn't holding air and is about to back to Fox for a hopeful warranty, so I bought a DVO Topaz to ride while the X2 is getting serviced. Ibis has had some excess shocks in its clearance section for a while. I considered buying a Jade Coil multiple times, but I thought I was in between the spring rates they had in stock so I hesitated. Then when I both needed a shock and had gained a few pounds, I went and they were sold out. But they had the Topaz for $170, so I snapped it up. I know it isn't considered at the sharp end of the current shock competition, but I liked the one I had for years on my Bronson a lot, so I think it will serve.
Attachment 469218Just grabbed a 2022 Revel Rascal, used-perfect condition. Bike is Cherry! The previous bike was a 2013 Specy Camber Carbon. That gold stem is going.
After riding GG Gnarvana S4 for a bit I decided that it's too much of a bike for my usual riding so I overbuilt Canfield Tilt frame with Formula MOD and Formula Selva C, both coils. Still need to re-dish rear wheel 3 mm to the drive side but it feels plush and beefy. Will play with CTS cartridges after a few rides.

Put a Mara Pro on my V2 Ripmo (thanks to some help on the experts thread in getting it situated for install). Someone had asked for thoughts on it once I had ridden it a few times. It replaced an X2 factory.
Initial impressions (four rides): Not to overuse any buzz words, but basically it is incredibly plush and stable going super-fast through chunk, brakes bumps and general rough terrain. I have never used a coil, but it feels like what I imagine I would want a coil to feel like. My previous shocks to compare were the X2, a DPX2, and a Monarch, and this is night and day better for that. At first it felt a little dead and was hard to pop and jump with compared to my X2, but a higher pressure has helped that a lot without losing too much performance in the rough stuff.
It is a little trickier to get set-up and dialed in than other shocks, but partially because there are no starting pressures and rebound recommendations for my bike. It requires way less sag than my X2 so there has been a lot of guess and check to get the right pressure. You can actually use the compression dampening without making it feel harsh, and you have to use it though as a downside it that I have been blowing through the travel even at 15% sag. I need to figure out if the can is cut in half with the O-ring in the stock set-up, and then add some volume reducers if it already is.
Overall, it is pretty awesome so far, and hopefully with a little more tuning it will get even better. Would highly recommend if you have a little patience for tinkering with the initial set-up. For reference my weight with gear is about 195-200 LBS.
Glad to hear you're liking it. Interesting to hear that you're blowing through travel too easily. I run mine at 25-30% sag and no volume reducers and it handles dorps to flat like a dream. But, that could also be due to my bike have different leverage characteristics and me being 40 lbs lighter.
Thanks! Appreciated the advice on the mounting hardware. Yah, I was surprised about that as well. Not to get too deep into the million things one can find online about it, but it did sound like that was a potential issue for bigger riders on more linear bikes. It's defintely not a show-stopper, and I think some reducers will be perfect.
Do you happen to know if the stock configuration for the KingCan is with full-volume, or with the O-ring already effectivly cutting it in half?
Will the Mara Pro fit a Spec Enduro frame?
Looks like it'd be really close.
I don't know specifically, but if you need any measurments off of mine (210x55) I can get them for you.
My MaraPro came out of the factory with 1/2 can and 2 extra reducing band. They seem to be all over the place. It's easy enough to open the shock to check, and probably good practice to take a look and see how much/little grease sits on the piston.
I scored a cheap MaraPro for my Garvana, I'm curious to see how it will change the bike compared to the EXT coil. I love the ultra plush feeling but honestly my riding style is almost too bouncy to deal with a coil and I'm giggling in anticipation at the thought of going back to a Manitou air shock. Been very unimpressed with the Fox and RS equivalent offerings, even though I've finally made piece with the Super Deluxe I'm running on my little bike.
Got rid of my Chromag BZA carbon bar and picked up the Oneup carbon bar. Holy cow was a difference in dampening and much less arm pump. I didn't like to chromag bar at all, way too stiff. I can see why a lot of my friends who race DH/Enduro still prefer an aluminum bar
BZA is 35mm? Fuck that.
Team 31.8mm carbon til I die.

Can’t make this up. Blew up my X2 today on the last day of JHMR bike park.
Now have to figure out a replacement for next weekend which is the last two days for Targhee.
Gunna pull the trigger on the Mara Pro tonight and pray it gets here.

Picked this up Friday. I'm going thru my normal cycle of hardtail, XC FS , Trail bike, too much travel bike -> hardtail... Frame has been ridden hard, but the shock and other stuff looked new, so we will see.

I upgraded my air pushing setup. Much improved over a floor pump with a boost chamber.

Picked my son up a large hardtail tonight for next year when he grows some more. $500 with an XT groupo..Team Norco!

Milton inflator (thanks, Gunder) and a Jaco chuck.
finally esploded my oem shock two weekends ago, we tried to fit a new vivid on my gen 3 Bronson at Fluid Function but the shock tunnel was too small for the air can. We ended up putting the new Super Deluxe Ultimate on, two rides in, including some fast chunky tech and softer duff/loam and it's really freaking good. Yeah I was a couple generations removed but, very impressed so far, the hydraulic bottom out is pretty sweet, even though it's not adjustable on the super deluxe like the vivid.
Damn.

Are those Jaco chucks any good? Seems like a pretty good deal at $30/2

Upgraded or downgraded? I picked up some new rubber for the Krampus. DHF and DHR 29x3. I'm mounting them on Rabbit Holes so it's ghetto tubeless time.

Last time I mounted tires on this bike I was less than successful. I was finding specs of glitter for months.
