So much good to say about AA since discovering them back in 2008! Been traveling to see them since 2012 and have seen them all over our great country in large halls and small, intimate venues. Going to the annual Roadtrip to Raleigh should be on any fan's bucket list once in their lifetime. Still friends to this day with members from his previous AA lineup (Ryan, Bill and Whit) and have become friends with Shane and Neil from his current lineup.
From this past Wednesday at TSR

BJ has become like a "brother in arms" over the years; always happy to see one another!

Thank God for Red Iguana to bring them back to town each year :)
Finally, SLC Dawg, you never, EVER, fucking leave an AA show before it is over!!
D-Day would have your head if you pulled that shit!!
I try to stay till the end regardless.
Just to show respect for the artist.

My first time seeing The Brothers Comatose since they added Addie Levy to the lineup this fall.
Her mandolin ripping adds a whole 'nother gear to the already stellar lineup. The SLC show sold out, Seattle & Portland stops coming up this week.
JENNY DON’T and THE SPURS rock!
Although I didn’t find them so much “Cow Punk.”
I felt they owed more to vintage Patsy Cline and OG Country Twang…
Whatever you wanna call ‘em, it really doesn’t matter as they are right and put on a great show.
To give you an idea of their vibe:

Molly Tuttle and Golden Highway last night.

Me’n Vets the Patch Skiing King were all set to catch the BEAT stop at GSR in Reno last night. Show wasn’t even 1/3 sold out, so we planned to snag tix at the door to avoid all the extra fees.
Then a buddy from SF called and told me he had comps for us!
Then they canceled the show due to “severe weather.”
It was a bit windy yesterday, but that was it other than sparse rain; nothing terribly severe about it.
Kinda bummed as I’d gone to the second show of the tour and it was kinda meh, but had seen some recent footage of later shows and it looked like the guys had found their groove.
Oh well.
^^ I’ve got real good seats for the Beat show in Lynn, MA coming up.

From Jenny Don't show here at Aces High the Sunday before last. Her lead guitarist's (Chris - second from left) guitar was damaged in the ATL airport and he had to play a $400 replacement from Guitar Center and absolutely shredded!
I almost went to that concert because Dookie recommended them in a different thread but I was tired and instead I'm listening to them a bunch in the car with the kids and everyone likes them. Wife is a bit confused though.
I’ve sadly blown off a grip of shows recently:
Jade Bird @ The Cypress in Reno

Iguana Death Cult. - https://iguanadeathcult.bandcamp.com/
Milk for the Angry - https://milkfortheangry.bandcamp.com/
Suuns - https://suuns.bandcamp.com/music
All of them played separately, but recently at Lo Bar Social Club in Reno (a venue I still have yet to visit, but they keep getting some interesting bands and their cover is crazy cheap (usually $5-10).

Vice Grip @ Tahoe City Golf Course
I saw these local West Shore Tahomies play an acoustic set back in October, but still haven’t seen ‘em electric, but they got chops…
Most of these gigs I blew off due to weather, being mad tired after work, or I simply spaced and forgot.
Hoping I will be ready to rally for Charlie Hunter and Thunder Pussy in a coupla weeks…
Grand Targhee Bluegrass lineup is fuego.

No doubt. I was planning on hitting Renewal, but may have to reconsider.
There is no renewal, so your choice is easy. TBG lineup is even better for 2025 than 24:

Most excellent show

Was down in Reno today for a dentist appointment.
After I went and spent far too much $$$ on records and comic books.
When I walked into the local record store they were playing this:

I immediately bought a copy.
Turns out they actually played in Reno earlier this year. Now they are on my “gotta see live” list.
In the meantime:

Still bummed they canceled the Reno gig last month.
I saw the very second show on the tour and they hadn’t ironed out any kinks and Vai seemed conflicted in terms of trying to sound exactly like Fripp.
I saw some footage of later in the tour and he definitely was letting loose a lot more than when I saw him.
Just realize LaMP is playing down the road tomorrow night. I know and have taped the opener, so hopefully I get a board feed.
Scored 10 club tickets to Pearl Jam in Nashville, May 6th and 8th, both dates general admission pit. Dark Matter tour

Front of stage lip acoustic.
Still so relevant over 45 years ago. So many questions remain. That is why music matters.

I am wrestling with the notions of seeing Cheap Trick, Kraftwerk, and Cypress Hill in the coming months.
I have seen CT and CH before, though the latter is song a show with the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra, which could be cool.
I was supposed to see KW back in 2020, but that didn’t happen due to COVID.
Just bought Kraftwerk tix for Portland. Never seen them live.
Pixies in Tokyo has my attention and there's a chance I may actually be there then.
I've never caught a show in a foreign country (CAN and MX don't count), so I think it'd be pretty awesome. Only thing that would be better was if Kim was part of the gang playing.
Went to see New Jazz Underground at Dazzle last week. Talented trio of young musicians right there.
Picked up tix for KNEECAP @ The Independent in San Francisco this coming October 28.
First time I have ever bought tix this far out in advance.
They had two shows and the first sold out in a few hours.
Mulling over CHEAP TRICK on V-Day as well as CYPRESS HILL w/RENO PHILHARMONIC in April and KRAFTWERK, also in April.
These are a bit closer to home what with being down the hill in Reno.
Also just noticed LARKIN POE are playing down the other side of the hill in Grass Valley in April, as well…
