Man I'd have to put Ester Ledecka first but between her and Diggins/Randall it's a toss up. I had a lot of fun watching this year and it really took the edge off being sick the past two weeks.
110,000 condoms given out.
^^that seems to be the ## given to athletes. More were given out to volunteers, coaches, etc.

I actually got into watching curling this time, and not just because the US men won GOLD (but that helped). I think the free guard zone, four rock rule really helped make the game more exciting. I hear they might be moving to a five rock rule next time?
Anyway, despite some shocking upsets, I have to admit the Canuckistanies did pretty well, and congrats to you all, eh? I’m just glad there don’t seem to be that many Norwegians gloating on here.
Good review of the games :D:

It was cute and funny for 5 minutes.
Then they were giving me a headache.
I didn’t catch the ladies curling. But I heard the Russian lady was hot!
Just some words I heard the commentators say. Beats me what the deep significance of it is, but thought I’d share my newly acquired knowledge. The game is still pretty much a mystery to me.
I also picked up that the Canadians are known to play a “corner guard” as an opening tactic, even when they have the hammer. So the US would open with a rock in the house close to the button without fear of it getting cleared, because the Canadians would follow up with their corner guard that actually guarded the US rock. Not sure I understood completely what was going on, but the commentators marveled at how clever that was.
That last paragraph looked to be in English but I understood none of it.

Huh? I thought that was great.
Sure, It was a great result, just found the narration smacking of the usual Dartmouth grad pomposity- Jesse Diggins winning a sprint in the finish straight isn't a big surprise when she's in a group, even to the others skiers in the group.
