Oh ya, duh, first person shooters...

I'd bet they had one guy on ground causing chaos and one guy providing cover from perch. Picking off cops rushing in as well.

I hear ya, I do. It just seems a bit early to be placing odds on white guys starting a race war by shooting 11 police officers. As to a marathon and black guys, I live in a city with way more black people than white people and they all came out to the Peachtree Road Race last weekend. No incidents. I've said it before and I'll say it again: being a carpetbagging northerner in the south I see way more racial harmony in major metro areas down here than I ever did up north. Not that that matters at all now, nor is relevant to what's going on in Dallas right now

Please. The LE lobby has a different set of rights for police. Blue wall of silence. There is no difference. Cruiser + belt = card carrying member of the police lobby. They need to change, and they are being obstinate in far too many localities. SLC not one of them imo, though there have been some questionable conduct in shooting incidents.

If the police involved in the other shootings were targeted I'd crack a beer. This is very dangerous stuff though, this is reflexive and geographically random terrorism. Self inflicted. How many times do we chide Iraqis for not being able to foster a culture of peace, and here we are.

I just got around to watching the ESPN OJ tonight and it really hit me how little has changed in American race relations in 30 years even with a 2 term black president.I feel bad for both black people and the vast majority of decent law enforcement.

Hard to say, going to va in late august. Planning to make time i winter but have a lot of trips this summer for climbing. Appreciate the offer. I'll be back there, just need to plan a bit more time.

Re: peaceful, I guess that's debateable. Kind of a belief vs. relative comparison in stats. I've rarely felt as though my community isn't safe, if that gives context.
