Skied SE aspects at high noon, because I don't like getting up early, and starting wet slides is fun. Giant roller balls and some soft oozer slabs on steeper slopes. All manageable.

Poster from cali headed out to shred alta/bird PC resorts. wondering if any of you guys had any cheap lift tix or coupons for any of the resorts you wanted to get rid of? lemme know. id really appreciate it. heading out for 3 days of skiing with $300 in your bank account is sketch but the storm coming is worth the chance of getting reamed by running out of gas or something.

Our approach to Lisa was not exactly the standard. We went up a couloir that begins just to the left of Lisa but then angles northwest. We topped out right where the burned trees in Deaf Smith meet the ridge. From there it's a very enjoyable climb up the southwest ridge to the summit. We could have skinned the whole thing if it weren't for some icy spots.

My MCL injury from a few weeks back unfortunately acted up again on the descent so I had to very carefully and slowly wiggle my way down.
Getting soaked by ice water adds a whole new dimension of fun to rappeling!

The final 1000 feet of rappeling, downclimbing, and scrambling was quite frankly a living hell because of my knee but oh well, it was worth it :)

I feel bad for this kid, but the fact that they actually thought they could clear the creek with the kicker they built is hilarious.

It's too bad he was so badly hurt, otherwise the whole thing would have been hilarious. I'm no gap-jumpin' fool, but even I could see that there was no way in hell they were going to clear the creek with that kicker, and even if they did, it was a completely flat landing. Ouch.Quote:

Exactly. The lead story on their website earlier today was about a temple in another state that is going to be open for tours for awhile after completing some renovations. Observed some all up in yo face over the shoulder blower on the mower and NE shots off Kes. yesterday. Bonding of new snow/ old intially pretty good but instabilities increased during the day and in upper wind affacted ridgelines with sluffs on steeper terrain running far and entrailing a lot of snow. The sun peaked out a few times and greenhousing set up lower elevation snow.
Some interesting chunder golbins on lower eastern aspect gullies in cardiff.
I for one would like to thank Backcountry.com for donating the money necessary for the UAC to continue operating for the next few weeks as we push toward 700 inches. I start every day by waking up and listening to the forecast and april 1st is just to early around here to stop issuing forecasts. living up to their name and already great reputation.
