love it, cool shot. I'm just thinking "ruh roh!" looking at that ... know nothing about kayaking big rivers but it's a photo that appeals to me because it shows just enough information about the insanity of the setting in which the subject is placed.
Dude, let's see some more from the kayaking set! That looks insane
A couple more from the weekend.
Lev, there are some more Mesa Falls pics in the kayak section.

Tooling around with a 70-200 f4L on June 13. Gonna take me a little while to figure out how to get this lens dialed in for skiing, I missed the focus point on most of my action shots from a couple days ago.

yes it does, Canon 450D. I just realized I put the focus point on the center for some stills the day before and didn't set it back to all points for skiing. Most action shots were on servo and I hardly composed any in the center, doh. I did have a few center composed though and they didn't really turn out ...
Posted the entire set in Kayak
but wanted to share a few favorites

woooo this thread is firing. Gebster, is that shot handheld? How long of a lens?
damn nice tap, that looks byooteefull.
crackboy ... #2 ... the point ... white room ... all you need are some foreground out of focus trees and you've got a classic powder shot ;)
Handheld from the bleachers at the 2009 Miramar Show, finally sent some of my photos from the show to MPix to print. Shot with a Canon 70-200f4 L and 1.4 teleconverter. I had to crop out a good amount of sky, so I'll probably take a 100-400 to the next miramar show. Hopefully I'll make it up to the Bay Area for the SF show this year.

Not really happy with the sharpness (or lack thereof) in this one. I could never get it to export correctly. It looks great full size, and when I resize it, it get's soft... :/
FWIW, It is a 30 second exp...
Horrible composition here, but I'm slightly encouraged by the initial results of my return to film. This is from a rainy day shooting with cheap supermarket print film. My second roll which I'm halfway through is Velvia, so I won't be able to make any excuses for the next batch.

Just sharing this P&S shot my dad took, not for the photo critique but for the WTF value it provides. Lightning struck a tree on their property, traveled across the grass leaving these lines, went up/down a few downspouts on the house, killed the cable box, TV and fridge in the process. Pretty nuts.

Buttahflake, that pic is corny... :D
Love that last shot Outabounds. That print?
porno, ob
Thanks, jm2e and Tap.
I'm not sure I undersstand the question, jm2e. Have I printed it? No. I need to start checking that out, though. I don't have any delusions of grandeur, but I'd like to put together ten or twelve (or whatever it takes) shots and see if the local coffee house guy will hang them for a month.
